Traditional French Fry day

A 12 cm Laguiole by Robert Cécon. The scales are made from bone, the blade has "brut de forge" finish.

I love FP's 5 COQS. That ebony(?) gives it a very sleek refined look! What an outstanding knife!

My second favorite pattern from FP is the Capuchadou, particularly the smaller version.

Yup, that is ebony and thank you! I am a fan of the pattern. I really love how the lockback release looks like a coxcomb combined with the Birds Eye rivet (literally in this case) to make it look like a chicken.

That bottom capuchadou with the cross hatching is spectacular!

My thoughts exactly! I hemmed and hawed over the 5COQS for months, worried that the handle would be too small and the beak would dig into my hand. Worried for nothing and now I have 3 of them. That ebony is very enticing! 🤣

Thanks, that particular capuchadou is a favorite! They called it studded buffalo horn.

Yup, I went through the same before I ordered mine. This Le Cinq Coqs is the only knife I have from FP, but I can tell you their ebony is very nice from my only example.

Now I am going down the rabbit hole again of their website Pialincu, Le Thiers, and Laguiolle, so many beautiful patterns I want.

I have found out that Marie Taillardat has made a smaller version of the Le 1925, called the 1925 BB, anyone have any pics or have one? How does it compare to the bigger version? Thanks.

I wish Stefan Schmalhaus would do some more videos on French knives. I really liked them and thought they’re well done, they got me interested in French knives.
