Just received my first Laguiole. Le Fidele, hafted in pistachio wood. I’ve been doing my homework, realizing there are many things to know, but for me, it’s a good start.

Interesting link JP, although it seems it was from February this year. I like that Yann comes from a long line of cutlers and hope he and his girlfriend can make a good hand of this venture, FP is only small with a few employees and deserves to do well. I wonder if the blades will still have the 'Gilles' stamp on them?

Continuing my French Traditionals education, I had the good fortune to acquire a Chambriard Le Thiers Compagnon, (from Gary W. Graley ) hafted in aromatic Juniper wood and razor steel. Gary always takes something good and makes it great. Thank you Gary.

Can't say, it is now a kind of "branding". Future will tell.
