Well, I like brass bolsters (just picked up a Buck 110 with ebony scales and brass bolsters). I think it looks good.I'm guessing a burl ? Will will whoop me for brass bolsters, but the bidding started real low...and i had to try one

It dates end of 80s made by what was not yet the Forges de Laguiole. Not sure of that but I guess components came from Thiers then...Thanks for the treat, Jolipapa ! Sweet briar

You're right, they don't use the tip, it looks more like grey horn.
