A timely comment. I've thought the same thing myself. Am I doing myself a disservice by not owning a 2-piece laguiole? Should my next knife have bolsters and a corkscrew?

Indeed idioms are amusingly odd. I used to wonder why Rat-Tail bolsters were so called, not exactly a fond animal until I found out they are made with a Rat-Tail file, but aren't tails too weak.....
