A day early but wanted to thank L Laurent57 for the Couperier-Coursolle link. I received a brass Yatagan today and let me get its grade out of the way first. It’s an A- for me. ForWill Power it’s a non-starter because of the brass. Correct? I can now sympathize with you buying knives from different continents. Shipping is as much as the knife itself.
I quick description is in order. A few cosmetic nicks which is to be expected in a soft metal such as brass. I consider those beauty marks. The blade is a little off center but nothing severe. On the plus side the figural stamping is more distinct than it appeared on the website’s photos. It’s nice and slim and sharp. I look forward to seeing how it ages, patina, nicks and all.View attachment 1870580

That’s quite attractive Steve and looks very well made. Is it a checkerboard or the winner’s flag at the end of the race.
Thank you my friend. No matter how many different sites I went to and translated, that never came up.If you're wondering was the lady is doing, she's playing cabrette, the local bag-pipe.
Thanks Alan. I never thought about it being a winner's flag, but I consider the knife to be a winner, so maybe this is it's new designation! That’s quite attractive Steve and looks very well made. Is it a checkerboard or the winner’s flag at the end of the race.
