I just reached 2,000 posts, and December 22 is my birthday :), and I would like to give something back to this fine community. As I generally carry two knives daily, a pair seemed appropriate. The winner will receive the Bark River City Knife and SAK Pioneer pictured below.

Rules:
1. Must have at least 50 posts in the Traditional sub-forums by December 22
2. At least 6 months of membership
3. The winner will be selected by random draw on December 22
4. Anyone who meets these criteria is eligible, Mods and international members included. (I have no experience shipping outside the United States so may need some advice on the specifics)

To enter post "I'm in" and for fun share your favorite Traditional fixed blade/folder duo and why you like that combination. If you are not a fixed blade enthusiast, share you favorite Traditional pattern and why you fancy it.

Pretty simple! Thank you to the members of this great community for making this such a fantastic place to gather.

Dave

PS, Now that I've entered your GAW, I think it's only fair that you enter mine...... that is if you didn't get a forum knife this year. ;)

Thanks for the generous give away Tom, I'm in~
Happy early birthday as well

Favourite pairing...zulu spears
Very useful blade shape, I'm enamored with the city knife profile and the MUK edc was a custom from Markesharp, I like OD green micarta as well~

Very generous of you! Im in. In my area, i am not allowed to carry a fixed blade, but if i could, it would be the clip point version of the fallknivens. Im allowed fixed blades when hunting tho. My favorite traditional pattern, is single clip blade, as seen in the GEC 48 big clip. thanks again for this generous give away!

edit: included a picture

Great giveaway! I'm in... Thanks for the generosity, and good luck to all.

Fantastic GAW Tom! Congrats on the 2K posts and I hope you have a splendid Birthday. I am in!

Fabulous give away! I don't generally carry a pair unless I'm hunting. I do however use these two knives quite often and the yellow 66 jack almost every day.

I don't currently have any Bark River knives; actually have never had one. The one you're giving away here seems to fit my style quite well and I'd love to own it. Good luck to everyone out there that has entered. I know I'd be proud to own this pair of knives.

Super gaw - I'm in. The only fixed blade I pocket carry is the newly venerable lime cutter. Otherwise, some form of traditional, usually some type of scout or stockman pattern.

I'm in, and thank you for the generous giveaway.

Were I to win, your City Knife would be my first and only fixed blade. I have ogled City Knives and it'd be wonderful to start with one.

My favorite folder pattern in my small collection is my Case swayback jack. It's the right size for EDC and feels good in my hand.

Not an entry, but thanks for the great GAW. That Bark River is gorgeous. (Very nice SAK, too.)

International mail isn't particularly difficult or expensive, by the way.

What an awesome GAW! I'll never get used to the generosity I see here on the porch.

I'm in!

As for my favorite pattern, I love Scouts and Barlows. However, this pioneer sees the most pocket time. If it was good enough to issue to Swiss Soldiers, then I should be able to make due with it.

Happy 22/2000 Bday! I'm in.

Lately I've been grooving on the Forum Knife.

And because I don't make it into the "outdoor woods" as often as I used to, this little Boker Fitz is probably my most carried fixed blade (pocketed).

This was made out of an old saw blade. I like the big belly on it. And of course my little 12OT. That Bark River and SAK look sweet. Thanks for the opportunity. I'm in.

Thanks for the chance Whetstone39, I'm in! My favorite fixed blade is the Hammer Brand my Dad got for selling magazines in the 30's. Can't pick a favorite folder...just too many. Thanks again Tom.

Congratulations on the milestone Tom, it's great having you here. I look forward to seeing your beautifully captured combos, and the combination of a small fixed-blade and a multiple blade folder is one I like a lot myself when I'm hiking. The City Knife and Pioneer are a particularly attractive pair, and this is a very generous giveaway. I'm in (please).

I've had these two knives a long while. The Frosts Lapplander in Sandvik and rosewood is one of 3 I've owned for 23 years, and the Victorinox Mauser I've had a decade longer. The small fixed-blade is robust, very comfortable in hand, and takes a great edge. Combined with the tools of the Mauser, I find it a very practical set-up.

Good luck everyone, and thanks again Tom
