Traditional Knife and Gun Picture Thread

Thanks Joe; here's another of my home-customized sixguns:

Another beauty Barry. I can never get enough of those wheel guns.

Ok lets rock a Sharps (Model 1875 in .45-70) made by Sharps. Not a replica. I mentioned this project a while back and got er done recently. Project was to build the case/bag that Quigley was carrying his rifle in when he steps off the ship in Australia. Dang with that 34" barrel its hard to get the whole thing in the pic.

A buffalo rifle must be photographed on a buffalo hide. Its a rule somewhere:

Rifles don't get much cooler. Wish it was mine. Doc paid $500 extra for a wood upgrade and worth every penny! The pics don't even begin to do justice to the wood.

Here's where the rest of the buffalo hide went. Kinda suits the theme:

Dave you have posted some beautiful guns before, but this Sharps may well be the nicest! Outstanding Walnut and Case hardening on the receiver. The 36 cal is not bad either. Not to take anything at all away from your leather and knife work they are stellar as usual! Thanks for the treat. I think ole Matthew Quigley would approve!! :D

Love your pictures Dave. If I’m ever heading out that way, I want to stop in for a beer, then shoot the cans.

WOW! Once in a lifetime Sharps! Incredible, Dave. Beautiful scabbard! I would love to see that in about 75 years!
Tell me you were able to shoot it?

Beautiful work as usual, Dave. :)
Does the Sharps have the long range tang sight like Mr. Quigley's? I could not see the base for it in the pictures.

Dave, is that a C Sharps?

Sounds like a plan Jsega51 Jsega51 ! We've got our own range. Ramrodmb Ramrodmb I had permission to shoot it but not the opportunity or the ammo. I've got quite a bit of .45-70 but it's all heavy stuff and you are suppose to use light stuff with this one. Thanks for the kind words. Thanks afishhunter afishhunter , no it doesn't have the Vernier sight. I don't know 315 315 . Guess they are both made in Big Timber.

My buddy and I stopped to stretch our legs and fondle some guns there last fall. It's a good thing my checkbook and daughters college tuition bill were both at home!!! They make some exceptional guns.
