I really like the looks of the darker holster myself, excellent work!
Looks to me like the dye job flattens out the contrast between background and leaf.
Man, those leaves are CRISP! You's an artiste.

I posted this awhile back in the beverages thread but I think it could suit this place nicely as well.
Real nice, Dylan!I posted this awhile back in the beverages thread but I think it could suit this place nicely as well.
No worries, thanks Dylan.Sorry about my late response, Dennis. Both of those rifles are absolute beauties but that 94... Just wow. An excellent rifle that has some stories to tell, I am sure.
Thank you for posting the pics.
And a Winchester 1873!Now I just need a fixed blade Bowie for a full on traditional carry View attachment 1078591

Can't argue with any of that! Lovely leather tooling, as well. What is the hide?
I'd be happy if my only guns were an 1873 Colt Peacemaker (engraved, nickel plated, with ivory grips!) and an 1873 Winchester.Nice. It's hard to mistake a walker for anything else.
I like how the same folks that prefer traditional knives prefer traditional guns. Some things just don't need changing.

I prefer the more natural look .Been getting lots of requests lately to do some oak leaf carving on both sheaths and holsters:
These two I did this week. Have I ever mentioned that I hate dyeing leather?
I know lots of folks like darker colors but to me it seems you lose some of the detail you put in there. What say you?
