Traditional Knife and Gun Picture Thread

I'm not particularly recoil sensitive, but I was surprised at the difference between the .44 and a .357. The problem with the Taurus was that it bit the knuckle on my middle finger. Interestingly, the only other gun I've had do that was a .45 Colt Blackhawk. I suppose it could have been my grip, but I experimented quite a bit with the Blackhawk, because I really liked the gun, but no matter, the trigger guard kept biting me. Traded it for a Glock. I haven't shot a .357 J frame, but an Airweight .38 snubnose doesn't bother me a bit.
I always curl my little finger under the grip. It keeps the trigger guard from whacking my middle finger (it also keeps the gun from rolling up in my hand, making for quicker follow-up shots). Up to 44M and heavy 45 Colt, this has kept everything comfortable.

My "go to meetin'" pair, a Freedom Arms model 97 in .41 magnum and a John Lloyd Dino in musk ox horn. Yeah, .41 mag trips my trigger, too!

Dayum.
I can tell it does

tongueriver tongueriver my great uncle collected S&W top breaks, he had multiple bicycle guns still in the boxes. Of course this was in the 50’s.

The .38 Terrier and .38 Regulation Police (both in .38 S&W) were not good sellers here, the .38 S&W was considered pretty weak by current standard but laid many a man in the grave. The .32’s were still quite popular with older guys, my father in law had a pre war hand ejector in .32 S&W Long that was a real jewel.

Beautiful knives and gun!

Is that a piece of agate in the jaw? It looks far too uniform for any of the flints I've ever got my hands on.

Thanks. Yes it is an agate, and agates sure do throw sparks. I’m a little leery of using them too much because I think they might cause excessive wear on the frizzen. I don’t know that for sure, but that’s just my thoughts.
