Red Squirrel (our Euro squirrel much cuter&better behaved than yr American Grey:D) changing coat from winter to summer

Cute squirrel but I learned from Rick & Morty not to trust them. ;) :D

We do have American red squirrels but they don't need an ear hair groomer. :p Here's one getting in the garbage... One man's garbage is another squirrel's gold. :)

We seem to have an increasing number of grey squirrels that are white. It's a minor trait, not albinism. Don't have a photo handy but I have one in the backyard.

Here's another doggie photo.

Tomorrow I'll be visiting my mom where I had to leave my cat thumper because buttercup doesn't like cats , and I'm gonna try to get a good picture or two of her.
She hasn't been too happy lately because her brother was recently hit by a car , I haven't seen her in a while so hopefully seeing me cheers her up a little bit.

Btw great pics everyone

Im game! I love outdoor knife shots, they often can be the most fun to take and look at.

My Two Faced NF Barlow. In my pocket as we speak and hard to beat for every day carry!

NF Outdoors.jpg

My favorite Camillus Mod. Hasnt seen as much pocket time since the #77 came around BUT its my favorite handled knife I own. Its pleasing to handle and serves as an awesome "worry stone"

And finally, an "outdoor" shot of my best buddies, Windsor and Little Man. They go EVERYWHERE with me. They are both currently cuddled up on the couch with my pregnant wife as we speak...and I have been voted off the island to the love seat LOL

I grew up with a grandfather who appreciated a good hunting dog, a decent pocket knife and an excellent shotgun, but he knew he could get by with a little H&R .410 over his shoulder and an old Imperial jack knife in his vest, as long as he didn’t skimp on the dog.

He bred, trained, traded and sold more dogs then I’ll ever own in a hundred lifetimes, mostly beagles going to devoted rabbit chasers, but for a time it was coonhounds and spaniels.

By the time I came into the picture the atmosphere was changing towards small game hunting. What was left on the farm was a few choice beagles. I was privy to the training that took place, turning a pup into a rabbit dog. A rabbit dog doesn’t chase deer, retrieves downed hares, doesn’t lose interest in the hunt and listens no matter the command, my grandfather had a secret weapon for turning out rabbit dogs and his name was Hawk.

Hawk was the best of the best and his ability to inspire greatness in the young pups was something to see. His devotion to my grandfathers command was obvious in his retrieval of game, even going as far as stealing the game shot by fellow hunters just to deliver it at my grandfather’s feet.

Hawk had forgotten more about hunting then I had known by the time I started beating brush in search of cottontails; he was all but retired. Hawk’s passionate baying flooded my memories formed when I was knee high and stuck with me when my first season rolled around, his distinct bellow echoeing through the hollow and into my mind as he inspired hunting greatness in his last pup, me.

Thanks for that Johnny, that was fantastic. In a way there are parallels to my boy "Buddy" who is and always will be my avatar, and my sig line pays homeage to him as well. "Best Ever" in my book, my oldest brother is a devote pheasant hunter and was totally awestruck at how smart Buddy Boy was. My brother, like me has had many dogs and the highest compliment he paid Buddy Boy was simply that he had never seen a dog as smart. My brother was right. In addition to Buddy Boys vast wisdom was a heart that exceeded his body. Thanks for that very neat recollection:cool::thumbsup:

I'm not sure if these are within the rule guidelines for the GAW, or not, but getting a lab mix puppy to pose with a knife wasn't going to happen! So, here's Brody, my '79 Case Texas Jack, and some porterhouse burgers (just because)! Whether these qualify or not, thanks for hosting this generous giveaway and good luck to everyone. supratentorial supratentorial -Jake! Great photos. I can’t believe Lyle hasn’t talked you out of that Wade & Butcher! Somewhat out of his bailiwick, but very complimentary to it , imho. Also another way to say I like them too, I suppose. The pic of the hound on the ice is great.
Thanks, Neal

Here's my bobtailed little kitty thumper.

No clue why her little tail is crooked, only one in her litter had a long tail.
Her tail was straight when she was born, but one day I noticed it was just crooked for some reason..
She's such an energetic cat who was the first to go exploring and couldn't wait to get outside.
It bothers me that she can't live with me, but she's happy where she is.

We just had another great guy come in with an offering of another Knife- this makes a total of 6 knives up for grabs, Emspop ( Clay ) has put up a very nice Knife- Please check out original post #1.
Thank you Clay so much for your kindness to the forum mate.
( pm incoming )

Jake, that old Pruner amongst the crocuses (no crocus polish:D) is such a treat:thumbsup: Fine addition to the GAW haul that Calf Roper too:cool:

Thanks, Will

She looks a bit like one of our European Lynxes:D

Never been lucky enough to see one in the wild as they're rare here in Finland, it angers me that hunting licences to kill nearly 400 a year are still given out when it's such a rare and elusive cat:poop:

Also interested in Scottish Wild Cats, the only true Wild Cat in Britain, they cannot be tamed, and sadly the genuine full breeds are getting rare. I made a donation to the Scottish Wild Cat foundation recently, which does some captive breeding and re-introduction in the Scottish Highlands. Where's pmew these days??o_O

Thanks, Will
