The other day someone was joking around, maybe half joking, that they wanted a 43 Beaver Tail in smooth bone. In fact, he said it was his grail knife. Even though it doesn't make total sense, this is a hobby that allows for a great deal of creative, custom freedoms with our knives. Well, I can't leave well enough alone so I thought it would be fun to see what that would look like.

Then I thought it might be cool to play around with other knives.
Anyway, it occurred to me that I could probably cobble together any mish-mash of a knife to get ideas for customs, new materials, shields, etc. If you had anything on your mind throw it out there and I'll see what I can do.

Likewise, if you have anything like this you've already done or want to share please do :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Just popped in my head:
A BM Adamas blade in polished stainless & a Buck 112 handle. Sized between the two. Of course it's back locked!

I was thinking a little more traditional :) No thumb stud anything allowed on The Porch  I guess I could just leave that part out.

5 inch Daddy Barlow, long pull, swedge, crisp gunstock checkering, ivory bone, brass bolsters, I like plain bolsters on a Daddy Barlow, but if you want to add an interesting stamp that'd be cool to . You know, nuttin complicated:D

Dang brother! The crisp gunstock checkering on ivory bone may be challenging but I did put this out there so let me see what I can do :thumbsup::thumbsup:

NAILED IT!!:D now to get GEC to produce it:p Great job on that! Its even got curved covers, instead of the normal slab type for barlows, I didn't even mention that but that's how I picture it:eek::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thank you :) That was fun. I wasn't sure if I was going to even attempt it but it just so happens someone posted a pic of one of Lyle Fry's knives in a FB group and it has checkered ivory handles :)

Kind of a swayback, there are better pics in the guardians of the Lambsfoot thread

So a swayback Lambsfoot similar to the one in that photo but with match striker long pull and ebony handles?
New or with patina?

Go with new, I can add patina in my dreams!!!
Edit to add- I have been trying to do this myself with terrible results, awesome thread and gesture to put these together for us!
