Oh man, you guys are killing me...full plates, verge and fusee movements, railroad watches adjusted in 6 positions and temperature...beautiful.
When I got into watches, I found I could purchase vintage ones pretty easily, it was having them maintained was the problem so I sold them all and stuck with relatively modern mechanical wristwatches instead. Not that they are cheap mind you, but I think my wife was relieved when I started collecting knives more instead
I still wish I kept my Bulova Accutron Railroad Approved though. The 300 cycle hum from the tuning fork movement was actually soothing. Unfortunately the cost of parts darn near gave me heart failure!
