Traditional knives and tools

dantzk8 dantzk8 :D Any trees left in your vicinity??? I've got a couple of trees I want felled at my country place, unpleasant scruffy firs want to give room to an Oak (yes they do grow up here lat 62°N) and a fine Maple- great colours in autumn. But finding somebody to do it is proving impossible.....always like seeing that lockback, sturdy yet with elegance.

I live in a forest but with the increase in the price of oil and electricity everybody wants wood. Each tree, here, is owned by private owners or by an administrion (State, region or municipality) and it's not that easy to get wood. Fortunately, 3 years ago i've felt trees for a friend who owns a wood, he gave me 20 meters of wood for the job. Next winter i will use about 15 meters. After that I don't know how i will do.

My idea of Finland was that everyone owns and uses a Billnass axe, runs like Paavo Nurmi and shoots like Simo Häyhä. Well, i've yet been wrong.
If you don't find someone, tell me, i'll come.

Exactly.

Folks that appreciate the usefulness of a good quality and well designed knife usually also appreciate the same things in our other tools. At the very least tools make a nice looking backdrop for a knife photo. Let’s see them.

This thread has been up and running for 6 months now, just want to thank you for starting it, been going back through it and some fantastic tools here. I'm sure i speak for everyone who frequents this thread that we all love tools, especially some of the old historic tools posted, i'm not in a position to have a large tool collection anymore and sadly had to relinquish most of my old tools. But being able to see other members here collections is fantastic, and is most satisfying, great idea and hats off to you. 😍😍😍

Thanks Cudgee, and thanks to everyone that’s participated and shown some excellent tools and knives. I’m glad this thread has been popular.

Good to see some locally made tools, most of our stuff comes out of you known where.:rolleyes::rolleyes::mad:
I'll always choose any domestically made hand tool option I can afford, that includes work gloves.
When you just buy a tool here and there as you need it, it's not hard.
The extra cost adds up , but you'll never notice if you aren't counting.
