Traditional knives and tools

I'll always choose any domestically made hand tool option I can afford, that includes work gloves.
When you just buy a tool here and there as you need it, it's not hard.
The extra cost adds up , but you'll never notice if you aren't counting.
:thumbsup::thumbsup: Here is an old locally made wool press, this is probably over 100 years old, this is a proper big tool. I copied this from a magazine, it is not me in the photo.

Carrying this today, had it out for a sharpen and oil.

2 new tools for me.

1943 British wire cutters, there was a US Army set I could have had as well .

They looked the same but no markings, though they had a nice pouch, now I need some wire to try them out.

And this file I love it never seen a pocket fold up file before, what a great idea it fits under my bike seat nice and easy.

I was a bit lazy I should have used one of my WW2 jack knives in the photos but the SAK was in my pocket.

This Knipex plier was provided to me 45 years ago when working on a construction site at binding rebar rods. It didn't last more than a few days, I punched a co-worker for being rude and was fired 10 minutes later.
Applying the saying "What's taken is no longer to be taken" i kept hidden the tool in the right deep pocket of my overalls and went away. I still use it. Good quality tool.

Did you know there are now collectors/fans of Knipex?

They are good tools my old side cutters are excellent as are the new pliers wrench, though its always better to have the correct size spanner if you can.

I didn’t know there are Knipex collectors but i can see why.
I've offered one of those pliers wrench to my son who restores vintage British car's like the Cooper Mini. No much place in those cars to carry a tool box. He likes such tools for repairs on the road side.

I bought the 150mm ones for my motorbike a good size for most nuts if you haven't a lot of room.

The colour is "Smoke grey". It's one of the original colors of the models produced in 1964.
I've never been so far in the south of France. The heat, the language barrier...
