Traditional Knives on Desks

Cool thread, John!
My home desk...

This photo shows a Mug Boss I keep on my desk, but you can't see much of the desk, although you can see part of the bulletin board on the wall above the desk. The Mug Boss is sitting on a pile of books that are on top of a "bank box" I keep on top of the desk to provide a place for a "stand-up desk". Out-of-frame to the left of the photo is another work surface where I set up my laptop and do most of my "sitting down" work. To the lower left of the Mug Boss you can see part of my phone (near the base of a softball trophy) that's on the corner of the desk that the Mug Boss is on. That phone is still there, but in the past two weeks, while I was away on vacation, it became nothing but dead weight as the university has switched to a new phone system using Cisco Jabber; my laptop is now also my office phone.

I need to dig out my Mug Boss again.:thumbsup:
Definitely a handy desk organizer, John!:thumbsup: The photo I posted is an old one, and my Mug Boss currently has fewer knives and more other "office tools" than the pic shows. I think the only knives currently in it are the higonokami with its custom leather handle, the white-handled Frost Flying Falcon, and the black Vic Money Clip that I use as a tie clip when I wear my "test tie".

Here's another "archival photo" of a Chinese Schrade cracked ice sowbelly resting on top of some books on my homemade stand-up desk. The angle of the photo is such that it shows some of the postcards from Porch members, trophies, and family photos that I keep at the back of my other work surface. You can also see some "tools of the trade" I store on the bulletin board.

My grandfather used to have a collection of those wire puzzles that I enjoyed working on 60 years ago! :):cool:

I wouldn't say I enjoy working on them. I'd say ours is more of a love/hate relationship, dependent on how successful I am at solving the puzzles. I swear that some days my fingers simply aren't working right. No matter how many times I've figured them out, there are occasions when I just cannot disentangle the pieces. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment.

Mug Boss who knew? Here I am living like an animal without one. Do they all come preloaded with Sweet red Alox old style cross SAKs?
