Traditional mug shots

Hello all,

I thought I'd play along... such a great subforum. Here I am on the mat, instructing Aikido:

I've been hanging out here for a month or so, enjoying the free-flowing exchange of knowledge and good-natured conversation. I figure it's about time to share a picture so ya'll can associate a face with my screen name.

My wife took it while we were relaxing in an outdoor market in Adelaide during a recent trip to Australia.

Cheers,
Greg

Nice pic, Jack. You look like me at that age!
I had to laugh, Ed! Good one!

Just for fun I'll add an oldie of me and a buddy of mine. We share a birthday, three years apart (he's the younger one). I'm on the right and this was probably around 1975-76, shortly after I got out of the Air Force. I was over compensating for having short hair for 4 years....

I really enjoy the photos of vintage knives I see here on The Porch.
But I'm kind of ambivalent about these photos of vintage people!:cool::confused:
Nice pics, Jack and Gary; hard to believe we used to look that way!
(ED, well-played! :D:D)

Cool pic Gary :)

Hey, what do you mean 'vintage' GT?! :grumpy: :D Yes indeed, hard to believe! :D  I guess most of us vintage folks don't have too many pics of ourselves, with not everyone owning a camera, and the cost of films and developing being relatively expensive. Things are very different today.

I also like seeing some of the vintage stuff Gary. I haven't been around much as of late due to struggles with my ongoing medical treatments. Been trying to catch up the last couple days. I happened to come across this pic of me and my siblings from the late '50's. I'm on the left with the knee patches and goofy face. :D We're all spread out now. My sister lives in Alaska, my one brother lives in Mississippi, and the youngest baby brother still lives locally.

Gary Did you ever get that old truck moving again? :D Nostalgic, pic looks like Hill St. Blues

Bob Great family shot, you certainly do look alike even though like most siblings, you are all probably very different:)

Regards, Will

That old truck was way past ever running again, Will. My pal Larry was into taking photos of old barns and vehicles. I'm not even sure where that picture was taken or who was on the other end of his Olympus 35mm SLR. More then likely one of our female companions. If we were musicians, that would have made a good album cover. :D

Edited to add; Great pics guys!

Good to see you here again, Bob, but I'm sorry to hear your treatments have been a challenge.
Great pic of you and your sibs in younger days; what are you guys on the ends holding in your left hands?? The infamous "sleeper hold" your sister has on the littlest brother is obviously quite effective! :D

I have a sibling shot from the early 70s, I'd guess. My littlest sister was born in November 1969, after I'd gone off to college, and she must be at least a year or two old in the photo. I don't see how my parents afforded the optometrist bills; I think we all had glasses by second or third grade (although my brother on the right was able to stop wearing his in high school)! I'm the hippie college boy in the back left, and I don't know how we were posed for that shot, but both of my younger brothers were taller than me by that time, even though you can't see it in the photo. 4 of us now live in Michigan, but spread across the state, and 1 brother is in New Mexico, 1 sister in Florida, and my baby sister in Iowa. I think those hair styles are coming back again!
