Traditional mug shots

Just a great picture VermontEdge:thumbup::cool: oh how they grow so fast. My wife Nanc found the neatest book year's ago (she did daycare for 17yrs) and she made sure to give to many first time parents.

We tend to mark time in firsts, first tooth, first step, first word. But this booked focused on lasts. When will the last time your son or daughter sleeps on your chest, when is the last time you'll lift your child up in your arms. It's a neat way to reinforce that everyday is a memory just waiting to happen:thumbup:

Life's greatest gift are our kids:) May Dad my argue that though as I gave him reason to:D

I read a really good article on this a couple of months ago. It talked about how we remember the firsts with such clarity, but the lasts go by without really being noticed. The last time you cut up your kid's food for them, the last time you gave them a bath before they could do it themselves, the last time they climbed into bed with you because they had trouble sleeping. Those really are the moments we should be cherishing. The problem is you never know it's the last until it's long gone. It's the type of thing that makes my wife cry and makes me proud.

Well stated Corey. Time slips by with very little notice of the things it steals until we realize it has been gone for far to long.

Congratulations mate, look after that one with everything you've got! Awesome picture, put a smile on my face :)

Something else people do without noticing is wish their kids life away. "I wish they would grow out of" or "i wish he would start sleeping all night" etc. I made a vow to myself when sydney was born that I wouldn't do that. And I never have. There where times I wanted to! But I haven't once wished her life away because of something that irritated me. In doing so, I came to cherish those moments. Those midnight wakings to eat (she didn't sleep all night until almost a year old) became a moment that I now miss so much sometimes that I'm ready for the one on the way to regain some of that.

Maybe after that it'll be time for grandkids.

Beautiful photo VermontEdge:)
I totally agree SVT- don't wish it away- althooough at the mo I'm wishing my 15 yo son would get the hell off his games ,anime, and various other screentime devices and start to communicate without so much mumbling. Tempus fugit.

We had some old friends from Maryland out to visit our new homestead in Texas. Here, Karen snapped a pic of Sid and Mary and I in front of the state capital in Austin. I called it "Old farts with sticks." Texans being Texans, they had to build their capital dome several feet higher than the Nations capital.

Defiance flashed in Casey’s eye, a sneer curled Casey’s lip.

Me and my new wife.

Congratulations on your Nuptials and your incoming. Congrats!

Just a great classic river fishing pic - good times! Your boys couldn't look happier.

Great steak with great friends at Jess and Jim's steakhouse in Kansas City. Barry had a beautiful Joe Kious lockback that he engraved in his pocket, 600 diamonds, IIRC, and about $45,000.
