Traditional mug shots

Sittin' atop Charlies Bunyan in the Smokies.

TN_hike.jpg

Cool shot, I have been there, nice hike out to that point.

Glad you like the shot Pistons, it's definitely one of my favorite hikes in that part of the smokies.

Great picture!

I promised Paul backchannel that I would post one of me and my son when we are together next week for Thanksgiving. Isn't great to have a son who enjoys life as you do? Looks like you and I are both fortunate in that regard.

QFT, the best times I have had in my life have been camping and hiking with my two sons and my wife. Little did I know when we decided to enroll our sons in Cub Scouts 12 years ago and get involved as helpers then leaders would have been one of the best decisions I ever made.

Been up there on Charlie's Bunion myself a time or three, Nick. Great pic!

My wife Maggie, Jim Gaffigan, and myself.

Awesome high mountain tribute, FES!

The teaching had now come full circle. The lightning was traveling down the side of the mountain toward me when my teacher appeared to me. " Lightning is the thought energy of ancient divinity."
"It is electricity," I replied.
"Electricity is the thought energy of ancient divinity."
I smiled.
"Everything is thought energy," he said.
Suddenly a bolt of lightning hit the spot where my teacher stood;it started to writhe and spiral as if it were a waterfall, but a waterfall that was sky-bound.
"Do you want to come with me." he said
"No" I said, "My journey is here."
He stood there within the lightning , then smiled and was gone.
I packed my bag and began the long journey down. As I reached the tree line and entered the native forest of tall trees. I turned back to pay my respects for the final time. Wind fluttered through the trees, and in the rustling of the trees I heard the voice of my teacher and the voices of the ancient line of teachers softly speaking these words to me: "thought energy comes from the chaos that exists within all living creatures, all aspects of this world and the universe. Some chaos is good, some indifferent, some bad; however, it is the stuff from which happiness and enlightenment are made."
Thunder rolled across the mountain. Rain fell to wash everything away.
"A new start," said the rain.
"A new mind," said the wind.
" A new me," I said aloud.
Out from the mountain I walked, carrying a new way of thinking.

Looks like those of you that included your wives, and like myself married well! Enjoying seeing my many friends here, and abroad! My fellow TN friends are making me home sick again and I don't need any help! I've been all over those mountains hiking and on motorcycles; in fact we use to lay out of school and ride up there!

This was taking toward the end of my riding days when I use to try to stay up with my old friend Tray Batey who works for some fellow named Kevin Schwantz now! When Tray reached that national level it was like good bye see you back at the shop!! I rode for over 20 yrs. and still miss it!

I thought it was really neat to see some of the progression photos in here. Here is a cell pic of a photo my father took of me when I was in 5th grade. Growing up walks in the woods with my dad were the norm. All the time every week.

You can see the first machete my father gave me when I was younger in that photo. He did not get me the Ontario standard issue until I was a little stronger.

This next one is of me and my best buds after a nap. My girlfriend is great at waking me up with surprise iphone pics..

You are welcome and thank you, P. Here is a shot from when he was a puppy. I had this dog with me way before 8 weeks. He road a long with me on a golf cart ALL day long while I ripped out and put in new wire fence around a farm. He kept me company. He is a great one for sure and was a gift for my girlfriend.
