That's a beautiful example of that pattern S-K  When I was a lad, there was a school trip to a local cutlery factory for one of the classes every year. The lads would get a knife in this pattern (though not as nice I have to say), and the girls would get a pair of scissors.

Thank you for that thread Jack much appreciated. And very nice Ibberson SK. Does anyone have any info on firth stainless I keep seeing it on English blades?

Some very interesting knives folks  I think I have a few that might fit in this thread :)

Paul, VERY interested in this one. It looks like a Lambsfoot, would you say so? Do you have any indication of who made it, and where?

That blade looks like Arthur Wright of Sheffield, but I would love it to be US-made :)

Jack, it definitely is more Lambsfoot than Sheepfoot. It's a Jim Parker knife made in Japan.

Neat oddities/examples you've shown:thumbup:

Thanks Paul, and thanks for the info. Very interesting knife my friend, but I was hoping that it was a rare (VERY rare! :D) example of a US made Lambsfoot! :D

Hope you're having a good Sunday :)

Jack

This one is shaped like a rocket, AND.....it has a whistle with a little "propellor" inside that makes a sort of whizzing sound. :D

I hope the second picture doesn't scare any small children!

That's great CC, I remember seeing a couple posted ages ago, fantastic! What a creation of the time :)

Love this thread. I've been buying antique charm pen knives as gifts for the last couple years.

Big fan of the pre/post WWII Imperials; I rather enjoy rehabilitating the neglected ones.

Awesome rocket knife clutchcarter. Here's when you had to open a beer can with a can opener.

I had one of those!! Long ago.

I was trying to find mine yesterday! :D I was lucky enough to find one in the original box at a fleamarket a few months back. Real 70's knife. I hadn't realised that the 'Dishonest Inches' are actually centimetres, made it all the funnier! :D

Here's mine. This firm must have made hundreds of thousands of these knives, if not more! :D

I totally forgot about those ruler fishing knives! Brought back memories of my Grandfather taking my brother and me fishing. He had one in his tackle box.

My grandfather had one too! :D

You might think of them as a novelty, but it is a pretty established traditional pattern that is quite useful. The caplifter heel works, and the slender blades, at least in GEC's model which I show below, get scalpal sharp. The red stag looks pretty nifty, too.

So the French Kates are bottle openers?

I have a bunch of these novelty knives, my dad used to give them to me. I'll try to get them all together for a picture.
