Traditional yet custom!

Here's a Rogers Sowbelly to throw in the pile. This guy gave me a fit trying to get a decent photo of it.

Please place it CAREFULLY on the pile! Great knife, very dazzling! I can see why it's tough to photograph.
By the way, I just scan mine. Seems to work good for a technophobe.

Two of my favorite knives that fit this category.
First this little beauty from Master smith PJ Tomes. It looks like something that could have been made 100 years ago, but it actually won Most Innovative Folder at Blade Show 2001. If you look close the main blade is a lockback and the little pen blade is a slipjoint. Fascinating knife.

Next, when you look at this knife it looks very traditional, familiar and friendly. What makes it interesting is that it's a bolster release auto. I fell in love with this knife at Blade 2001 and I finally got to order one from Tommy Ware at the 2004 show.

Nice contribution to the thread, PhilL! I especially like the Tomes!! Well fitted Stag!

Mckgreg, that is a sweet looking sowbelly, and I'm not generally a sowbelly fan. That one sure makes me reconsider. It's fancy wrapped around business.

PhiL, those are, heck, I'm running out of adjectives. Really good looking knives! Both of them do look like they could have been seen being carried in days past. Slick design on both of them and a good marrying of old and new.

The greatest compliment I can think of is that all three look like they are just begging to be picked up and used. No matter how pretty or how custom, or anything else, a knife really makes it when just looking at it you want to take it in hand and start using it. Those stags and that sowbelly certainly do that.

Old time members have seen these but for some new folks (glad you have joined us) ...

Still one my my favorites from Bailey. Just an incredible knife inspired by the book Ed mentioned "Sheffield Exhibition Knives"

Bastid,
That unique Whittler you have by Bailiey is just incredible..

How can someone even MAKE that whittler?? The skill and patience is incredible!! Nice group of knives, a real range of concepts.

The knives in here are so cool, that I keep coming back to this thread, even if there are no new posts! LOL.

Just like to look at all the great work.

Keep 'em coming!

I feel like I've landed in the middle of a professional cheerleaders convention. Can you say overload! Too many sweet looking works to even focus. I keep having to take breaks and get my breath.

Nice herd of knives there JiveD! And nice pics! That's the one drawback using a scanner; limits creativity!
