Traditional yet custom!

Hey there sunburst,

I am now a new fan of Wendell Carson's work! WOW!! Sea Cow bone!?!?. This is the first I have ever heard of that one. Sea Cow Bone like as in Manatee Bone? Now, is that the trapper that has the Stag like appearance or vicea-versea? I'm thinking out loud here, this knife-maker is perhaps from Florida or some other southeastern coastal state?

~~ ><> ~~ ><>

Hello mitch13,

That Bob Ham custom is looking pretty darn fine as well!!

~~ ><>

Both of these knife-makers knives appear first rate and I have some more questions for you guys?? And rather than hijack this fine thread.. Do you all mind if I email you about these knives? Or I can contact you by telephone, either way which ever you all prefer..? If you have any objections to this and would like to 'private message' me and inform me of this, then I would respect your wishes, no problem.. Otherwise please make initial contact at you convenience at my email Addy: veritas.group@att.net <> or at my Cell phone: 561-255-3402 if you prefer.

Thanks very kindly guys in advance for any and all assistance you may be able to provide for me here regarding these fine looking pieces..

Below is a sweet little T. A. Davison, single blade bearhead trapper pattern I had purchased from custom knifemaker and fellow Blade Forums.com member Todd Davison. I bought this knife right here at "bf.com - knifemakers for sale forum" where I get some damn good bang-up deals from some the best knifemakers in the world.!:D  ... Specs on this knife is undyed natural color smooth white bone pinned onto Copper(not brass for a change~very cool look:cool: ) liners, ATS-34 steel blade highly polished w/filework @ 58~60 RC Nickle-Silver Bolsters and pins.

That Davison is a beauty.

Yeah mate you can email, it's no problem.
Cheers
Mitch

Hey there sunnyd,

Thanks for the compliments  the smooth bone knife you see is the SeaCow/Manatee bone & the rough scaled knife is the Bark Mammoth knife. I do believe that the SeaCow bone is ancient or fossilized bone, that it what I remember reading on one of his descriptions.

sunnyd I sent you an email to the address given, let me know if you get that, thanks.

Take care,

Sunburst

God Bless the both of you feller's for all your kindness!. I'll be in touch soon..

ps{sunburst, thank you for your email, I'll be in touch with a reply shortly.:) }

There just ain't enough adjectives for what I've been seeing in these threads. I'm just hopin all these will be standard issue in Heaven. Or maybe that's Valhalla, in which case I wanna go there.

Man, you guys are giving me a headache! I wish I could afford one of those.

Waynorth - that Terry Davis HJ is simply outstanding!

Okie Dokie,

Here is one from Ty Montell, who occasionally will check in here.
Elephant ivory, titanium hardware, filework, killer blades, and great feel. It is one of my favorites.

Ty is a real craftsman, and a humble gentleman to deal with.

Here is Ty's contact information. You probably should ask him directly about current cost, as I've had the knife for awhile. He is also a member here at BladeForums.

I have 2 slipjoints ("farmers knives") from a german knifemaker I`d like to show you but needed help from one of you nice and kind forums maties! ;) :D
If one could give me his email addy I`d send him some pics that he could kindly post here, please!?
My email is wrangler(at)sulk-kunst.de

The maker, Mr Kneissler, makes these knives for the farmers around his place.
Unfortunately they don`t wanna pay much, that`s why he keeps them very affordable. And I mean VERY affordable!
They are really rough made and have some imperfections but they are serious working tools!
My cow horn handled knife (carbon steel) is my EDC since I got it last year and I still like it!
My stag handled one (also carbon steel) still looks like new. ;)
The knives are available in ss or carbon steel, with stag or with cow horn scales.
And now the very best part, the price: He sells them at his shop at ~ 35.- $ :D  (Unfortunately he has NO internet access!) :grumpy:

El Lobo - thanks for the picture of the Paul Long sheath. I am a big fan of his leather work and own several fixed blade sheaths from him but had not seen his folder sheaths before. Now I can tell him to "make me one like El Lobo's". Now I just have to decide which knife to send him:)

No problema thomason. Maybe he'll (Paul) come up with something when we get our Forum knife? :)

Oh, he also did the "Folder Holder" type below for me...with a "sissy" clip (HIS words...sniff, sniff) on the back that makes it very versatile, for sure.

By a heck of a maker ,too. I bought this on the secondary market.Upon inspection, noticed a hairlne crack,in the jig bone,on the center pin.I contacted the previous owner,he contacted Al.Literally within a few hours, the details were worked out, with Al Warren,No Questions Asked, offering a Complete refurb! A gent, and Craftsman, who not only stands behind his work, but makes you feel real relaxed, when dealing with him,No Worries! I would highly recommend him. Thanks for the compliments on the knife.I'm hoping it's gonna be a real winner, with the new conversions.

Here's another Warren,Daniel,no relation to Al.Opposite ends of the U.S.A.
This lockback, has pressure dyed amber stag, that is drop dead gorgeous.
Very thin flat ground D-2 blade,3-1/4" ,with the ever so noticeable recurve to it.Hands down, one of the nicest custom lockbacks,I've ever had.
