This is also one of the greatest things about most cast iron, the ability to go from stove top to oven and back without worry.First he sautéed the chicken then added the sauce and cheese and baked it
Great looking meal.My son-in-law fixed chicken parmesan for dinner last night using two skillets. First he sautéed the chicken then added the sauce and cheese and baked it. Delicious! Could be cut with a butter knife. Maggie the beagle approved. OH
Ps. I gave him one of the Lodge skillets last year - Ben is putting them to good use.
Yes I am impressed with the quality of both the skillet and griddle. I also like the thought that went into the design that the griddle also serves as a top to my skillet. I have had field and stargazer also that were gifted to my children because they wanted to start cast iron cooking. After owning those 3 companies smithey is my choice hands down. That Smithey line looks to be very good quality.
You are welcome and hope it brings you many years of joy when you use it.I was really impressed with mine and look for reasons to use it as often as I can. i really think our parents and grandparents had it figured outJust received a Christmas gift that blew me away, arriving today from Reaper AL here on Blade Forums, a No.12 Smithey Ironware skillet like his. First time I have ever handled one, the workmanship is incredible, I cannot wait to get it seasoned and cooking. I'm sure it will star in my future cooking endeavors that I post here. The icing on the cake is having "OLD HUNTER" engraved on the base. Thank you Al for such a magnificent gift, it is old school exquisite! OH

Nice looking pan, and love the griddle idea. And beautiful knife.Frying some sausage for a frittata in the smithey skillet and used the griddle as a cover to help sauté the peppers and then into the oven to finish baking it. I am loving this skillet View attachment 2025965View attachment 2025966View attachment 2025967
