The other day I saw this Wagner Drip Drop Dutch oven at the thrift store. It dates to the 1920s to 1930s.

All jokes aside, that's an amazing find!
Absolutely. Astonishing that with the current trend that everything old is new again combined with the resurgence of cast iron cooking implements that find is amazing. Well done.

Happy New Year! Just seared our Pork Tenderloin in the Lodge skillet and shoved it into the oven for another 25 minutes. Got the sweet potatoes backing in the air fryer and the blackeye peas on standby. Just to finish the pork and cut the cornbread. Got an Ulster 58OT helping me today.

BE peas, greens & cornbread (We will have ham this time). Mandatory. I grow and grind my own corn for the bread. A little different this year: bok choy instead of collards, turnip and mustard greens. A wonderful new year and beyond to all of you!

The importance of doing a re-season occasionally. Spent yesterday doing my 2 fry pans. Cooked some fried eggs in one this morning. Slid around like they were on glass, this is why they last forever, unlike non stick pans which last a couple of years at best. As Cowboy kent Rollins once said, the family will fight over a Cast Iron pan in the will but couldn't care less about a teflon pan. Have a good week. 🤠

Do you re-season them on the stove top or in the oven? I have tried doing it on the stove, but eggs still seem to stick.

Oven. Warm it up on the stove top but don't let it get too hot. Rub whatever oil/coating you use all over it then place it in a pre heated oven at about 420 degrees on a middle rack upside down for one hour. . I take at least 30 minutes to pre heat the oven and place a tray underneath to catch any oil that drips. Turn off the oven after an hour and let it go cold. I do this 3 times but only grease the inside cooking part for the last 2 not the outside as well. It takes time but is worth the effort.
