Traditionals in the Wild (Pic Heavy)

Thanks Daniel and thank you for the thread as well. I'm hoping it takes off as I really enjoy the different shots of knives and nature.

I spent the week at my sister's. Here's the view off the front porch of my cabin. They run a ministry in Partridge, KY.

When the first moved the strip mining company hadn't touched their mountain, but in the last 2-3 years they have removed nearly the whole thing. I wish I had a before shot. We took the horses up and it was unreal to see the amount they took off the mountain.

This is near the top. 5 years ago this would have been not but half way up. The trees see at the top would have been on the other side of the mountain.

Really makes you appreciate the nature you have while you have it.

I believe that we can apply the above statement to just about everything in life. That front porch pic is amazing! I can almost smell that morning mist.....ahh, ambrosia.

I'm about to head into the woods for the night. See y'all tomorrow!

Really outstanding thread. Thank You for putting it together and all who have contributed. The pictures are outstanding. Here is a few of mine from 2016-

Wow, Stonebeard, just WOW! Those shots are amazing!

Just got back from a backpacking overnighter. Slept in a bivvy under the stars. It was a little chilly but we had a blast. I hope you all have a safe and Happy New Year's!

Again, not wilderness but definitely rugged walking. Ulster Scout in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve.

Some fine photos being posted by you Brett . Thanks for that . I really like this bottom one that really shows how gnarly that Stag is .

Thank you Harry. Appreciate that my friend. :)

Daniel - Envious of your time away in nature buddy. Even though it appears to be colder than the odd 60 degree weather here.

Thanks Daniel, appreciate the kind words. Ive enjoyed your light backpacking tarp shelters and many useful blades. I've done a fair amount of light/ultra light and hammock camping and have a great deal of appreciation for functional tools and shelters. Hoping to add some more photos of my own here in 2017 when work and my young boys allow. Great pictures everyone! Please keep them coming.

It looks surprisingly at home too Carl! Looks like the ruged hillsides of its native isle in winter.

Thanks, Will
