Over Christmas 2014 and New Year 2015, I visited my daughter who lived in Madrid, Spain. She took me to several Spanish cities over the almost 3 weeks I was there. One city was Sevilla. Although we took a plane from Madrid to get there, and took a bus (to Granada) when we left Sevilla, we did see a tram that is part of Sevilla's mass transit system. When we were there, the tram line was only 1.4 km long, but they had plans for eventual expansion. Here's a pic of the rails running down the middle of Constitution Avenue:

Here's a photo of the tram traveling near the cathedral in the central city:

I bought this knife in Sevilla:

As one who dabbled a little in model railroading many years ago, I’m in awe of your work. Just a quick look through your album reveals fantastic detail and realism (love the pile of tires in the photo you posted, and the wash on the line and electric meters on the side of a building in photos in the album.) I can’t imagine the time and skill required to achieve these results. I can’t wait to go back and go through it slowly and try to take it all in! (edited to add: I forgot to mention - great photography, too!):thumbsup:

Thanks all for the nice comments. The layout is HO scale. The pics show about 40% of the area that covers/uses about 24' x 30'

This Buck 119 picture was taken a few miles from where SCL #502 is shown (I took the pictures about 30 years apart).

The picture of the Buck 302 shown below was taken about 40 years after I took the picture of SOU 196 as shown above.

My dad retired as a conductor / brakeman for the Rock Island, these are his tools that traveled a million miles on the rails. Never saw him without this slipjoint, my most valuable knife.

When I turned 18 got hired by the Rock Island as a laborer in the yard. Car shop, wash rack (grueling), favorite was hostler helper in the roundhouse. Went from $1.70 per hour to $4.68 per hour! After a few months got laid off and went back to the truck stop, pumping Ethel, washing millions of bugs off windshields, fixing truck flats. Enough of that and entered USAF. Rock Island had to hold my seniority date and this is the card they gave me as proof. Before my first hitch was over the Rock Island went bankrupt, no job to go home to. Probably worked out the best but the Rock Island still flows through my veins.
