trail knife.

Regarding the retaining strap, like with the passaround knife, anything with a bit of the integrated guard type of handle in a 9 ounce waterformed sheath will be REALLY solid for inverted carry. You just, when you want to draw it, have to really be firm about it :D

That's a good looking knife 'Ol Bud  I'de say the 8" will be a real beast ! I really like the handle & I can't wait to see what kinda sheat K.G. comes up with. Nice job Christof

I vote expediton type sheath. I think the look would go very well with the knife.

+1 pretty much all of the above from me.

Great lookin' knife and I'm a big fan of the 999 too.

Sheaths? I know how important and even necessary retaining straps can be, but I don't like them. I like a pouch style sheath wherever possible. I don't know how you could pull that off with this blade design though and do the looks justice. I'd go simple and a little "primitive" with a sheath. Maybe rawhide stitching?

Look forward to seeing what you come up with.

I'm another fan of that blade shape. Its just a perfect working utility design that I have grown to love!

The expedition sheath will work great and provide a large amount of retention capability.

We're considering the flap style sheath, but I think the handle is too long to be really workable- that much flap is ungainly for drawing.

There's a new basic pouch design that Sierra is completing for a knife now that might work out really well for "lighter" carry.

I do think some should be done up with nice traditional Westward Expansion sheaths, that could be fun!
