Hi everybody,
Just had a team of snake eaters come in from the boonies. Didn't find any bad guys, but did mention in their debrief they had a really bizarre incident on the operation. Apparently they witnessed a young man getting more than just a little friendly with a donkey. Such was their training, discipline, and camouflage skills, that he was totally oblivious to their presence nearby, and thus unrestrained in his passion. Goes to show you never know who's watching
Things are going well here, way slower than we'd like, but hopefully that will change. Have only used my BAS once so far, used it to cut a piece of wood to brace one of the tent frames (it gets fearsome windy here). It performed flawlessly, and had some nearby eyes getting big over how well it bites that wood. I've found my BAS's karda to be very handy for mundane cutting tasks, and it doesn't make folks as uneasy as my khuk. I use it so much it's already got the same bluish gray patina as an old butcher knife. I keep the BAS, a 9MM, and thirty rounds of ammo (and my beloved Kagas Katne) on me, or within hand's reach, 24 hrs a day. If I get a chance to go "out and about" I'll really load up for bear.
Good to hear positive reports on Bura, both on the fund raising efforts, and on his prognosis. Hopefully, they can get him fixed up and back to doing what he loves soon. Like Uncle Bill says, nothing but good guys in the Cantina.
There's some perks to being First Sergeant. I get to drive down in the humvee daily to pick up mail for my guys, so I'll be the first one to know when that horn handled WWII arrives. THANKS RUSTY

If I can get my hands on an Afghan sword or dagger,it's yours. If not, I'll see what else I can come up with.
