Thanks Prester J!
And thank your daughter for me!
This porch community is a great group of folks.
Looking forward to my trapper, my first trapper at that!
Hope my wife believes me when I explain I got yet another knife, but for free this time!
Peace to all...
You're welcome!

Trappers are great. This one has CV blades, and will develop a patina. Belt sheaths are easy to find--Case makes one very reasonably priced. Or carry in your pocket. I do both. Hope you enjoy it!

I'm sure I will. I've come to really like Case products.
That said, I've been meaning to try my hand at some rehafting. Been watching some videos on YouTube. I just might try some new covers on this trapper.

Case is one of my favorites, too. What material are you considering?

Congrats, Pinemoon Pinemoon , on winning that classic yeller CV Case trapper!:thumbsup::thumbsup: I hope you'll let us all know what you think of it after you've had a chance to try it out for a while. And if you decide to put wood covers on it, I think it would be very cool to see what you decide on!:cool::thumbsup:

Vince, thanks again for this generous 3rd generation trapper GAW! Well done, sir!!:cool::thumbsup::)

Thanks!
I'll definitely update the porch dwellers on what happens to old yeller!

Received the trapper yesterday!
I plan on rehafting it after the holidays.
Thanks again Prester John Prester John ; the holiday spirit is alive and well on the porch.
A merry happy to all the knife-nuts out there!
(You know who you are )

Well, I wanted to revisit this thread and show folks how the Yellow Delrin Trapper from Prester John Prester John 's giveaway turned out. I finally gave her some new handle scales.

I know many like YD scales, but it's not for me.
I gave this girl some American walnut covers, wood from an old Gerber steak knife box from the '70s.

I also gave this girl a lanyard hole and copper pins.

I'm pleased with the results, especially because it's my first knife mod ever :)

I'm a woodworker and figured I could manage. It's not perfect, but I don't have all the equipment like a buffer or fancy sanders. I did everything with a dremel, sandpaper and elbow grease.
She'll find more pocket time now ;)
Thanks again, PJ !!

Well, that looks great, PM! I like yellow delrin, but wood is definitely better. Got an ebony knife in my pocket and an amber bone trapper on my belt right now.

Thanks.
Amber bone is lovely, one of my favorites.
Yes, wood is better isn't it?
I'm going to tote this "new" trapper for a while. Glad I finally put in the effort
