Sorry, can't make up my mind but I do use all except the Moose.

I know how you feel, Ed.

I love both patterns, but have a slight preference for the trapper, especially the big one. I would never buy or carry a moose.

I would not mind a moose. I have several two blade trappers. I have a few multi blade stockman knives (though only 1 large 4 incher stockman)

Ok I'm wierd I USE a stockman more, but LIKE the trapper more. I really like jumbo trappers, and will carry one in my right front pocket. I tend to carry at least 2 knives in my pocket, depending on size most of the time in a watch pocket. The brand jeans I wear tend to have a big watch pocket. So usually if I'm carrying a trapper, I will carry a sheepsfoot, or more recently a lambsfoot also.

I never carry a Trapper, seldom carry a Moose, but most everyday carry a Stockman - two favorites in the large category are the Buck 307 Wrangler and the Case 6375. I only carry a Large Stockman size when I'm in the woods, dropping back to occasionally a Premium Stockman or most often a Medium Stockman for EDC. OH

The two Case Trappers on top are probably my most carried because they just feel so nice in the hand. I'd say I like the Trappers over the Stockmans more but I use both patterns and it doesn't matter to me if both blade are long or one or two blades are shorter.I will adapt to either and don't give it much thought. The knives running east and west get used more then the three knives running north and south in the picture. Those three, regardless of price, have quirks about them that bug me, like sharp squared off bolsters or sharp cornered tangs. Let's face it, I just like a nice round butt.:)

Hadn't noticed any except from ONE person ( bikerector bikerector ).

I noticed that as well but didn't think it was a big deal since there are obvious traditionals in the picture as well and no mention of the delica. I know we try not to talk about modern folders, didn't think this one slipping into a photo was a problem. The picture was used in a different thread as a size comparison for those not familiar with traditionals but interested in the "modern" traditionals/slippies.

@Peregrin

Beautiful knives, especially that father/daughter knife, Randy.

Thank you the Father/Daughter is my safe queen sometimes where or who something comes from is of far greater value than the object its self. You have also displayed some mighty fine cutlery as well as some great post overall. I've not been as active here as I once was but I have enjoyed your presence here this last year plus you've been hanging out with this bunch of knife knuts. I'm really glad you found your way here and hope I have earned the privilege to call you my friend.

I understand, but whenever someone posts something that is prohibited by the traditional forum guidelines, we are admonished by the moderators. Often we are instructed to edit things out.

Thanks for the kind words, Randy.

And I guess this is where I thought, and still think, it was acceptable as it's not to point of topic in my discussion. It's just something hanging out in the background, in my mind. If it were only the one in the picture or I commented on it in the post, I would completely understand.

This is a quote from the traditional guidelines, which are posted in the "yellow sticky notes" at the top of the traditional forum:

"Modern locking mechanisms such as Walker liner locks, pocket clips, holes / studs to allow one hand opening are all out."

So the modern knives are not acceptable per the forum guidelines. I am not the enforcer of the rules, but I do make an effort to abide by them.

....prefer 1 blade smaller than main
....prefer rounded bolsters
....prefer bellied blade with shorter straight blade, Sheepsfoot
....prefer 4" or less
....prefer single spring construction

Sounds like a lot of people would like a Churchill

You got me! ;)
I'd definitely like a Churchill for all the reasons you listed (plus the "1217" on the tang stamp has been my house number for 35 years ). A "spearpoint main Churchill" would be even better!

(But the poll is asking about preferences among some very large patterns, which the Churchill isn't IMHO.)
