I am not too worried, I will just have to make due with my current knife horde without the XS Splinter.

Hey sfrigon! I have been looking at the k1 for a while now but have read mixed reviews about its performance.
Besides the fit and finish can you tell me how the k1 performed? Any insight as to how the steel has held up?

And can you tell the difference in performance between the elmax and m390 version?

classic blade shape ,very versatile good slicer,chopper . I have a hard time telling the difference between 390 and Elmax I guess if I had to go with one it would be the elmax ( seems to hold an edge a touch longer )
 
I found a k1s in M390, same place that had the xs splinter. I'm a little worried the handle might be a touch short for me, it's going to be close. Of course that is a purely subjective feature. Otherwise, very nicely fitted and finished :thumbup:

You guys that have both K1 and K1S, is there any difference in the handles? I'm thinking if there is I might need to move this one and go for the K1. Which kind of makes me sad as I love the size and shape of the blade on this, plus how slicey it is.

Yeah the handle on the k1 is a bit bigger but to me , size LG gloves, the k1s is a perfect four finger fit ,one of if not the most comfy that I own
 
Please be aware that you can order TRC knives directly from Andrius. He is a great guy to work with. (I own two TRC knives, and have a third on order.)
 
I was going to buy a apocalypse-m from him before unexpected/unwanted car bills came up.
But i echo what you have said Cyrano, he is a great person to deal with. Literally the nicest and most helpful knife-maker/dealer ive ever talked too.

Thanks! I'm usually in an XL glove, although a few LG fit. Not huge hands, but definitely not small either. Thanks for verifying that they are indeed different.

I have:
- Apocalypse-L M390 (g-10)
- Bushcraft N690 (micarta)
- Splinter M390 (micarta)
- TR12-S N690 (g-10)
- Mini N690

The design, quality control and perfection are amazing (including the sheaths). I consider them above other knives in that price category (Fällkniven and such).

I buy more or less all my knives from lamnia.com (I believe I bought all my TRC knives from them), but TRC sells directly as well.

You have every trc that I don't lol . I have the apocalypse m, k1, k1s, urban tactical .
