Tree Bark Handle Texture On The New Bushwacker Battle Mistress!!!!

I LOVE it! How about some in the Sandstorm G-10 or Coyote/Black G-10? I can't wait!

I agree that this pattern would look awesome in orange/black G10. I bet blue/black would look mighty good. Tequila sunrise anyone?

The "Treebark" style handle's horizontal grooves look as if they would give more control over strike angle and help prevent the Bushwacker from rolling or twisting in the hand while chopping, but won't help keep the handle from sliding within your grip as you swing. That control would be left to the palm swell and handle shape at the rear talon hole so I can see the possibility of grip fatigue under slippery conditions and possibly the return of "Busse pinky" from extended chopping. A more vertical type groove would help the tendency to slide within the grip during the swing or, as Jerry usually does, a more complicated combo of horiz. and vert. to give a pattern, pleasing to the eye and assisting with the control of both of the blade's tendencies to move in the hand while in use. Just my $0.02 but Treebark is certainly new and appears to be worth a try. Think I'll still buy one.

The contours of the handle in general and the butt configuration look extremely promising. Shades of the KillaZ -- a natural evolution of the fusion design. But those longitudinal surface grooves look like they might contact the palm/fingers in an abrasive way during extended chopping?

I like how it looks but please make sure that it is comfy for extended chopping sans gloves. I hate blisters. :p

This handle looks awesome, thats true. But judging by the look of the sharp edges... If I imagine chopping with this knife whole day, this handle would probably grate my hand really bad.

Btw. my vision is: Handle- Sandstorm G-10 like in the original picture, but with this new Tree Bark texture and the blade with the new sand texture coating.---GORGEOUS JEWEL !!! I can spit upon my hand.

I have several large Busse family knives with fairly sharp ridges, and they don't affect comfort as badly as I thought they would.

That said, five minutes with some sandpaper on a user knife can remove any hotspots.

I really like those handle slabs. I do agree with MM, if they are too aggressive for your hands take them down a little. I am really liking what I am seeing!

Reminds me of the way Matt Caldwell does his handles:
