I don’t begrudge people for buying the things, or them for making em. My ol lady has one:

What I do begrudge wholeheartedly is their bullshit explanation for how it came about. No way in hell am I buying that.
I got one free with an order and gave it to my old lady. She loves hers! 😁

I am a huge fan of the crossbar lock, it's one of my favorites, and the silver lining for me is that many companies are using it, and have further refined it, making it better than Benchmade ever pulled off. Not bad at all!

That said, I do not mind liner locks, either. Companies have probably moved away from them because other locks "present" as being stronger than they are. Crossbar locks are more fidgity as well, and we all know that sells these days.
I know it's reached peak saturation, but I got a Kershaw Iridium CF M390 during a factory flash sale and it has maybe the best geometry and "detent" of any crossbar style lock I've tried. It's got that 940 footprint and grind that comports more with how I want to use it. Made it hard to need other crossbar locks since I think they're best served in that ultra lightweight EDC role. Though Adamas still calls...
