Tribal markings?

Interesting designs Robin. They started to remind me of crop circles.

Loosearrow, yes, basketry designs look very much like crop circles. Maybe native folks are really from outer space rather than asia ;-))) Actually, the Dogon tribe of Africa say they are from the dog star sirius, they even have pre white contact star charts showing features of the star that weren't proven untill late last century (20th).

Best regards

Florals etc were adopted designs after contact, mainly taken from oriental rugs
Thanks Robin, I didn't realize this. I've just started studying the NE tribes. I have been so fascinated with the SW plains that I've missed a lot. The upper Missouri valley and NE tribes are my victims for this winter. .....Randy

Hey Bro
My first collections were of the SW regions, mainly Navajo, Hopi and Zuni silver and some basketry, we had an amazing collection of jewelry, some first phase Hopi stuff but some ahole broke into our home and stole pretty much the whole collection ;'''-((. We collected literally 100s of baskets, mainly Ojibwa, Mi'kmaq, Cree and West coast baskets. more recently I bought and sold some very serious pieces of Inuit sculpture. I love it all ;-)) My early picking was early country furniture.

Best regards

Robin, I am interested in learning more about northeastern american and canadian tribes but would like to bypass all the BS you mentioned; could you reccomend a good book?

Esav, that is a great site and I done the same thing, didn't go past the first page until one day I was bored and started looking threw it. Now I spend hours reading and chasing links......Randy
