I reached out to triplexxxcutlery in search of a GEC 74 in stag. I asked him if there was anyway I could be notified when he listed, and to my surprise a few days later he contacted me telling me had a stag 74. He told me his price was $250!!! Call me silly but I was prepared to spend the extra money so we went forward with deal. Up until this point we had communicated through Ebay and he asked me to text him. We started talking through text and he asked for my shipping address and informed me that it would be $250 PayPal F&F only. I told him I was uncomfortable using anything other than G&S and asked if that would be an issue. He said no problem if i wanted to add the fees. WHAT?!?!?!? At this point I politely passed on the deal. Keep in mind this is a dealer that is listed on GEC's site. I was hesitant to pay that much extra in the first place but when he suggested I pay the small fee that paypal would of charged him on top of the already inflated price I had had enough. This was just an overall shady experience. Hopefully some of you see this and steer clear.

Yeah that sucks. Just so I can avoid this dealer is triplexxxcutlery his eBay handle or is it something else?

GEC needs to be made aware of this problem as well. I can’t speak to their views, but if I am a business without direct retail, I want to be aware of how my distributors are conducting themselves. Their conduct reflects indirectly back to GEC, and if bad actors need to replaced in the network then so be it.

Is he an affiliated dealer, or a reseller?

Thank you for the heads up no matter what I will avoid that dealer. I hope GEC is made aware of this and replaces him with another dealer

The other Mustang #74's that have been sold on eBay to date seem to all be dealers. A couple dealers don't even have sites; they just have eBay stores. But there is at least one still running incognito.

Either way, the authorized dealer taking on the role of the flipper is very disappointing.

I agree, so we know one dealer to avoid but who are the other ones?

i am with you. i contacted him to inquire about the 74 stag. i would have made the purchase but the stag was not what i like. i am not here to bash on him but yes he is an authorized gec dealer. he offered me the ironwood 74 for 250 as well. not upset or bothered but i just wanted to share my experience and let bf members know that you are not lying.

I do not have a problem with any dealer having only an Ebay store. the problem I have is with a dealer with a Ebay store listing them for bidding and not buy it now. whatever a dealer wants to list his GEC for is his business. If it is more than I want to spend I will pass on the purchase. I truly feel sorry for the dealers that list them for MSRP on their website and watch other dealers being flippers.

My only issue with the situation was the fact that he asked me to pay fees for him when he was already making such a profit.

Gotta say I agree, because otherwise why have dealers at all? Hell, sell ME twenty or thirty* of those ultra hot releases, I'll call myself a "dealer" and sell them all at a tremendous markup. I mean, GEC gets paid, I get paid, what's wrong with this picture? Oh, right, the fans of GEC's product get effed.

* By comparison, my guy, one of the smaller dealers got like, five. Other small dealers got similar numbers of the #74 variants.
