Triplexxxcutlery

I think of it this way. How long can this dealer do this until people get fed up and stop doing business with him. So in the end it will hurt him financially.
All the while, the dealer selling at a fair price will get that much more business and keep going. In the end, the fair dealer will make out better financially.
My two cents.

The fair dealer will not make out better financially the dealer is only allocated so many knives which seem to sell out immediately upon release. The secondary market is always there but when an authorized dealer becomes the secondary market it hurts the retail purchaser.

I'm sorry if I missed it, but has anyone advised GEC that this "authorized" dealer is doing this? Perhaps they will take him off their distributor list, along with any other "dealer" that does this kind of business.

I never did. I just assume they have to know to some extent. Until they set a maximum sales price I don't think it's going to stop and it is apparently happening with other online dealers as well now.

That's true. Limited supply hurts the fair guy. I wonder if any of the "fair" dealers would say screw it and cut ties with GEC?

GEC won't do anything about it. I turned in another dealer awhile back for overcharging for knives. GEC said they don't control what the dealer charges for their knives. This seemed crazy to hear from a company that is supposedly trying to provide a knife of value to it's customers.

I reached out to triplexxxcutlery in search of a GEC 74 in stag. I asked him if there was anyway I could be notified when he listed, and to my surprise a few days later he contacted me telling me had a stag 74. He told me his price was $250!!! Call me silly but I was prepared to spend the extra money so we went forward with deal. Up until this point we had communicated through Ebay and he asked me to text him. We started talking through text and he asked for my shipping address and informed me that it would be $250 PayPal F&F only. I told him I was uncomfortable using anything other than G&S and asked if that would be an issue. He said no problem if i wanted to add the fees. WHAT?!?!?!? At this point I politely passed on the deal. Keep in mind this is a dealer that is listed on GEC's site. I was hesitant to pay that much extra in the first place but when he suggested I pay the small fee that paypal would of charged him on top of the already inflated price I had had enough. This was just an overall shady experience. Hopefully some of you see this and steer clear.

Kudos to you Jake, in the big picture that small pp fee saved you a lot of money
