Trivia time for the newer guys.

So a Pauls hatchet variant is missing.
That's a ton. Most are just color variants, some have a more pronounced clip point, recurve blade, penetrator tip,
The souls, rippers, eu17s seem to be the most different designs. The st17 too.
Why isn't the handle style replicated on a regular release?

I've always like the eu handles, not sure why they never made it to production.

Here's my best run at this:
PT5
Eu17- mini?
EU17- magnum? one is an inch longer than the other
Soul1
Soul2
Taliwhacker
SJTAC- ETS ?
BARF
Pt5
Terror Monkey
Tanker A
Urban Camo Satin Jack
Jungle Camo Satin Jack
Jungle Camo Anorexic Badger
Artic Team 1
a couple Natural Outlaw variants
HG-55 variant
Ruck variant
Team Gemini
ST56
511
FBM variant clip point
3B2
Sus Scrofa- perhaps not a specific "overrun"
SRKW Desert Jack variant (kin)
Bolo Inspired Battle Blade (BIBB)
Yard Hook (kin)
Ruck Kensai
SMOG Warden
Mud Razor
Muddy AD
Muddy MrS
Sage AD
Sage MrS
EH3
Mini-Mojo
Jungle Anorexic BA
Game warden variant
Mud Razor
AD variants
Mean Street variant
EH3 Mini Mojos
Jungle BA
Ripper
ST Ripper
ARK
Euro 6
Buffalo Soldier
Desert outlaw variant
a 10" sub-hilt desert variant
Desert jack

There are a few that no one was allowed to take pics of offered at Blade with not model designations- perhaps they are the Soul1 / Soul 2 and EU 17 releases.

so is this complete? What's missing?

Terror Monkey family consists of:
Ergo style/Euro handled SH, BM, NO?
AA
BOSS St.
DSF
Am I forgetting any?

I see Ruck twice. What's the Ruck variant?
I see Desert Jack twice, do you mean Desert Satin Jack & SRKW Desert Jack?
Also a few more...

Rodent 6 MO from the last Ganza
Desert ARK.
DCBB Scrap Yard MOD (Mil Overrun Dog with sheath)
Desert Mofo
BIBB
BATAC (Sage/Olive Green G-10, released at KC?)

There were a ton of "desert" releases for a bunch of models, but they were color variations, not necessarily mentioned as mil overruns and could have easily been ganzaa offerings or custom shop blades by what I read.

Apparently there was a tool made as well A2T (thanks to a PM :) )

I didn't realize the terror monkey was a family of knives. That's confusing. And does that speak to DSF with the terror monkey color scheme, because I've seen posts where it's called desert as well. The Boss St. had the same coloration, so I'd assume That "Terror monkey" is just a color option like the Desert ones from 2003? (I'm probably way wrong on that date.)

There was a desert ruck, and then it looked like there was a ruck with more of a tanto point to it, so I listed it twice. Some of the pics aren't from dead on so the perspective is funky. Also, I did all the research on my phone, so I'm not surprised to have a couple things incorrect.

The jacks: yep a SRKW jack (just brown ResC and brown camo blade so probably SWKW) and a busse satin jack desert, (and the STAC-ETS) the SRKW and SJ pics I saw were taken from the "unbranded side", so it's impossible to say what shop they really came out of, but I have them listed as I think they were manufactured.

Also, with no pics of the NO variants, or indeed probably MANY more knives, it's hard to say how many, or what they looked like. Like with the ARK- is it two separate knives, when it looks like you could have ordered the same thing from the custom shop?

The BIBB is on my list :) I never saw a pic of it though.

As I was going through this I still think that the Ripper and EU variations seem to be the most "made specially for a special mil group", than the rest. The color variations of standard offerings, while interesting for a completest, aren't innovative like these European offerings are IMHO.

I would really like to see a release with a "Euro" handle option. They seem to fill a cool nitch between the Ergo, and Fusion handle styles. The Souls seem to have a modded TAC style handle, but not as tall through the middle finger area.

If anyone has a EU or Ripper I'd be interested to hear what they have to say about the ergonomics of it.

Tanto blade:
Does the Dragon Fang count as a "regular offering" I've only seen pics of three of them. I thought they were essentially one-offs like the Chuckette.

I figured the PT-5's were a limited over run as well as the Tali-whackers. Those never seemed to me to be a "regular offering" either as they weren't up on the website for ordering. :)

There were some ZT Terror Monkeys too.

The ETS-SJTAC isn't really a military overrrun in the traditional sense of a Busse mil overrun offering, but is described as a "special mil overrun"...and it is indeed a special knife. :) ...This MO has an interesting story. The short version is that a member here had a BATAC CG that Jerry gifted him if I recall correctly, with "Embrace The Suck" engraved on the pile side that he used while deployed. During another(?) deployment, he and his unit were doing some rebuilding of a hard hit village and he tried to sell his ETS BATAC here on BF to raise some extra funds for the project. We jumped all over the thread to send him funds but all of us refused to actually buy the knife. The response was so overwhelming, raising more money than he was trying to sell the knife for, that he soon begged us to stop. :D Jerry had SJTAC's made for this member and his team also engraved with his team's motto, and decided to do a run for us as a Ganza, with a percentage of the price of each knife going to help with the expenses of Team Delta's project, which they were paying for out of their own pockets.
Personally, I bought several, and whether or not I ever sell or trade any of them, I will always keep at least one and be very honored to have it.

If you are curious to see the sales thread, search BATAC & combat veteran on the X. :)

Most of you are familiar with Recondo4u's team in Afghanistan and some of the great sacrifices that they continue to make for our country and the extra lengths that they have gone to in order to help so many folks over there.

Many of you contributed to Recondo4u when he tried to sell his Busse blade in order to obtain the much needed funds to rebuild the roof of a devastated family in Afghanistan. . . . Your contributions made it possible for Steve to be able to keep his Busse blade and still be able to accomplish his team's goal of getting a new roof on the house of the family that they were trying to help!. . . .

Very cool HOGs!!!!!!

Many of you didn't get the chance to pitch in and most who did still wanted to help some more. . .

We will be offering a VERY Limited mil overrun of a very special tan on tan "Embrace The Suck" Satin Jack TAC this Saturday evening (4-5-08) between 9:00pm and 10:00pm eastern. (Sheaths not included) . . .These are the same knives that we gave to PSD Team Delta!!!

We will be donating a portion of each blade sold to Recondo4u's team to use as they see fit for humanitarian efforts and hopefully for some much needed beer!!!!. . :D. . .

So, belly up HOGs. . . this is your chance to score some very rare military INFI and to buy some Real American Heroes an ice cold one!!!!
