Trophy Room - Hunting and Fishing Pics

That is fascinating, I've never gone bird hunting. I've been watching a big doe behind mom and dad's house lately but we've been busting our balls to finish this black locust framed shed so all I can do is point my finger at her and think 'Pew Pew'. Hopefully I don't go dry second season.
 
Momma and I finally got out yesterday morning. She stepped out of the box blind and twisted her ankle. Now she's laid up on a sprained ankle.

Good news we got a pretty decent buck on camera. Bad news no time to get out. Guess I will when I can.
 
Sorry to hear that TT. We've got a bit of a wrench in the gears here, too. Hope your gal don't have too bad a time with that ankle.
 
Not my bull but here is a bull elk my brother got a couple days ago. The second picture is the one his buddy got the next day in the same area.

I so badly want to kill an elk with my longbow.

Shoot... i wanna kill anything with my longbow. Right now rabbits are all ive shot with it
 
Jan goose hunt. We actually had about 50 come into our spread but at the back end and of course one of the dogs jumped out before we could shoot. But no big deal we all killed close to our limit. Fun times...dirty jokes, tall tails, farts and shooting guns! My guns is the 14 year old black 391

Love the old school camo. Thats a clever way to set your blind too. Did you have to do much calling or did they cooperate??


Tomorrow is Winter Turkey season. I will be going out. Probably wont see a damn thing but hey! Like my dad always says...

We had a guy calling in the middle. He got the big group to fly into our spread. Unfortunately one of the dogs got them to fly out of the spread before we could get a decent shot at the group. The funny thing about the old school camo jacket is that he bought that jacket when that style camo was standard issue. Best of luck tomorrow hopefully you get better weather than today. Your dad is a wise man.
 
Man we're so covered up with snow here that open ground looks odd. :) That looks like a great set up, nicely done!
 
Thanks! We had to make a few adjustments, aka make a hole in the spread. And as usual the "dumb" geese came around when we were cleaning up.
 
So I heard a turkey (or at least another hunter)! But I am going to say it was a thrkey. Should have gone duck hunting instead it was foggy and they were everywhere! Heard one group of hunters shoot at a TON of ducks. I may go thursday morning. We saw a bunch of mallards too. The season ends saturday
 
So can turkeys be called this time of year? I do a lot of spring turkey hunting, but January is totally foreign to me.
 
I havent the first clue! I very rarely turkey hunt. It was more a reason to go walk around than to actually turkey hunt! I duck hunted yesterday. Saw a bunch but they were flying too high.

I was walking in knee deep water. Stepped in a hole and sunk in to just below the top pf my waders. I had my work phone and my personal phone in my jacket pocket. Both are iphone 6. Both got wet. Both got fried. Work phone, no big deal. Personal phone.... expensive. I was pissed

Lol, I thought I was missing out on something!! :D I'm down with any reason to go walk around in the woods though.
