True Story...If a folder doesn't have a flipper it's obsolete!!!

I like Funyun's...frito's and Dorito's are good but you have to use two fingers to hold them. With a Funyun, you can hold it with one finger (through the hole). This alone makes all other chip's obsolete. These are not opinions, they are facts.
1. You can put your finger through a Funyun and it stay's right were you want it to until you are good and ready to eat it. You can even talk to other people while holding a Funyun.
2. When deployed from the bag, Funyuns are ready to be held and eaten. A Frito or Dorito's has to be manipulated into eating position.

Feel free to test #1 yourself...test to see which one uses the most movement to eat...I'd say 99.87% of the time Funyun's are the winner for least amount of movement.
#2 is non debatable.

So sayeth the Chip Lord.....

You are wrong! Pringles are the best, I know because I buy them and I'm a fanboy and not looking at mechanics, physics, or logic!

I guess you haven't been in contact with steroided out-angry-ninja boxes...figures.

That solves this mystery! Blixxx is a mall ninja and needs a finger guard to protect himself from the mass amount of stabbing cuts he makes to said boxes. Which is why he needs a flipper and can't admit automatics are faster...

To prove another point, you could say folding knives are obsolete because you need a radius of space to open them - at least with OTF autos you only need the space the blade takes in front of the handle - you can open an OTF in a tube, but you cannot open any flipper in a tube. Its a FACT. Your flipper is useless if you are in a cramped space. What good is the guard or speed if you can't even open it?

I thought you were good at physics? Please educate yourself on the basic concept of space.

Plus with the single action OTF you can put an insanely strong spring and stab things WHILE deploying the blade. Thats way more than any side opening knife could ever do.

Whoah! SOUNDS LIKE ALL NON OTF KNIVES ARE OBSOLETE AND DOO-DOO.

I'm not even a fanboy of any particular design, but its naive to say one is the best and ignore the rest. But I guess ignorance can be bliss to some.

hey dude, you have problems, and the name calling is pretty stupid. You don't know me, you don't know what I use my knives for, so it's time for you to go to sleep, it's way past your bed time.

...and btw genius OTF are folders? Learn to comprehend what you're reading, they teach that skill in the 2nd grade.

A "fanboy" is someone who proclaims one specific thing to be better than all others. The only person doing that here is you. Most everybody else is saying "to each his own" or "whatever floats your boat" or something to that affect.

ETA:

hey dude, you have problems, and the name calling is pretty stupid.

Someone's jimmies are rustled!

I really like flippers, they are my preferred style of folding knife and they work for me but, I am under no illusion that they are the best or fastest method of opening a folder.

Sigh. I am a dweeb. Let me get my panties out of a bunch, mop up my tears, and can actually refute ANY of the arguments provided in this thread.

There's no argument...I stated all FACTS. Learn something boy.

I never could make myself love. any Flipper but whatever works for you is the knife you should carry,
There is no ONE knife that's the best,, it's all subjective to who use's it and what you use it for.

#1 whether it is spring assisted or not spring assisted, flippers are positioned at the optimal location for a pivot fulcrum...this is FACT.

Get educated my friends.

Sorry for my bad English.

If a thumb-stud and flipper-tab are the same distance from the pivot, the leverage is identical, right?

idk about the whole flipper thing, my friends knife has a flipper without assisted opening and it's just horrible to open. never comes all the way out with the flipper unless you give it this little awkward jerk. the thumb studs however, full deployment every time, but the knife is so thin it's hard to hold when using the thumb studs >.<

Trolling is not welcome in the General Knife Discussion. For the rest of you: Do Not Feed The Troll. I am closing this thread.
