Ohhhhhh...and it came with a pretty brown sheath... I like that...

After I get it, that "pretty brown sheath" may be the only thing that IS pretty...LMAO...

Thanks TLC ...I feel like a new "dad"...my first 2 dot...LOL...Trax I'll let ya know. I'd be surprized if it is a Buck sheath. I'm not sure that any Buck sheaths are squared off on the flap like that one is.

Darryl, That is a really nice "early" two dot. I have a later two dot with three brass rivets instead of two. Sweet.

Thanks Mike. Been trying to get a decent 2 dot for ages. I've been shot down so many times in the past that I thought I just wasn't destined to own one. I pulled my own "snipe" with the 2 fingers going like nuts in the last few seconds. It was the first time I didn't mispell something with only a couple seconds left...LOL...Now I hope it looks good close-up as well. I think it will fit right in with my other 2 rivet 110's.

...???... Don't you just hit the "Bid" button??? Or was this some other auction besides eBay???

 ...Morning Trax. Unless I'm doing something wrong I think that after you bid you have to confirm the bid by re-typing your password and hitting another key or two somewhere along the line. That's where the bad eyes and the inability for the fingers to remember just exactly where those darn letters are located on the keyboard comes into play. Let's not forget also that MY "dainty" lil' fingers love to squash 2 or 3 keys at a time...To say nothing of the fact that I seem to own a keyboard which changes the locations of those keys from time to time... :p :D...

Darryl,
You're only asked to re-type your password if you haven't signed in. If I have an important bid coming up I usually play it safe by placing a low bid on some other item (below reserve for example) so that I don't have to worry about that when I need to place a bid fast. There may be an easier way to prevent that, but I haven't found it. :o

...Right you are Mike. I never realized I should have been signed in. I just placed bids on a couple of 532's that are up for bid( I was immediately out-bid by one of the Buck resellers ) and all I have to do is hit bid and confirm AFTER I've signed in...Need to become more accomplished at Ebayin' I guess...LOL...Thanks Mike and Trax...

 ...Well friends I received the 2 dot I was finally able to pick up on Ebay BUT my first "decent" 2 dot Buck 110 is still out there somewhere...Needless to say...the knife itself does NOT do the pictures justice at all :barf: :barf: . I can make it passable with a lot of cleaning but it is NOT what I was hoping for. Seems like he tilted the knife just right to drown out all the sharpening marks from a grinder when he took the picture...Oh well, like I said, I can make it passable with a lot of work but for me the "search" is still on...:( :( :thumbdn:

DarrylS, sorry to hear that your 2 dot was poorly represented. I can see that the tilt on the knife in the picture would screen out certain ills. I hope you have better luck in the future...and your not out big $$$$. Preston

...You're right about not being out a lot of "bucks" Preston...just kinda had the ol' heart set on a decent 2 dot...it didn't have to be a pristine collectable, just decent. Still wish I had picked one up on Ebay about a year ago before the "Buck Ebay Explosion" took ahold of everyone and they were all over the place. One thing for sure...I have more time than money...I'll just wait out the Ebay infatuation that seems so prevalent now and see what's available at that time...

It bums me out to see a nice old knife that someone's used a power grinder on. It's so easy to ruin the heat treat doing that, not to mention the way it looks after its done.

There's plenty of 2-dots out there, so you'll certainly find some nice ones at a decent price if you're patient.

...That's what I'm thinking too Keith...I just can't see grinding on any knife...Patience seems to be something that goes for a premium these days...

Darryl,
There may be scratches on the blade but atleast the profile is good. I think you'll be amazed at the way it will look once it is "restored." ;)

...I'm gonna work on it this week end Mike...I can make it look pretty good with a bit of elbow grease I'm sure. Just another day at the "auction block" ya know...LOL...I'm gonna be looking out for one comparable in condition to the inverted 3 liner you got...I know they're out there somewhere.

DarrylS,
I don't think it will make you feel any better, but I bought a 102 in the same "light" as your 2 dot, looked good, at just the right angle. I use that knife as the weed killer for yard work now:( I took it out of the box,BAM, that "gotcha" feeling hit, oh well, yard looks good.:o
