Tumbler question

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Honestly I didn't know you had gotten that far with it. I've had the pleasure of dealing with most of the fixed blades in your range, I'd bet that the folder won't come out until it's of the highest quality. I can wait. ;)
 
Okay I know this is a stupid question. But what is the tumbling for and what does it do.

It basically vibrates metal parts around in a bed of chunks of abrasive material. Parts shops use it for deburring. It puts on what is called a stone washed finish.

What type of media is typically used in these tumblers? I have seem some ceramic pellets and plastic triangles and am not sure which type to try to source out if I decide to go this route. Thanks in advance.
