TURKEY DINNER TUTORIAL- begins on post 247!

Very cool! Thanks for showing us how its done. I have been tempted a several times to try re-handling a knife just never seem to find the time to do it.

Nice work! It's amazing how the final polishing can transform a stack of well placed blocks of steel and bone into such a beautiful smooth piece of mechanical art.

Being key.

But also, if anyone here has shaped and/or deburred anything with a belt sander and/or buffer they will appreciate the skill it takes to have a final product which is even and symmetrical enough to appear machined.

Hey Mark and Sarah, time to claim your prizes!!!

Like that.

(For those reading along at home: the above picture, right here in this very thread, is my first glimpse of the knife Evan has (re)made for me.)

That's a blue beauty! Nice one Sarah  That soddy is pretty special too.

My #15 has arrived at my US reshipper address. I should have it in hand by the first week of the new year when I get home from my holidays. Can't wait to post a pic of it.

WOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!! Those are So COOL!!! What are great thing to be surprised with on this Christmas morning! I can't thank you enough Evan for the time and effort you've put into these treasures. You should be very proud of your work, I know I'll be very proud to own my new Esnyx bull nose! What a special piece of art! There's not another one even close to it in existence!
Sarah and Linus....Congratulations on your super fine pieces too! Man we are lucky, aren't we??!!
Thank you...Thank you...Thank you!!!

My one-of-a-kind Esnyx smooth bone single spear #15EO. Love it! Love it! Love it!
Thanks Evan for this great gift!!!!

Gorgeous work Evan! I felt just like the post of George eating popcorn all the way through it. Informative and entertaining makes a wonderul thread.

Linus - That is one of a kind beauty!

The peanut and bullnose are incredible! Trevytrev was probably up all night drooling :D:)

I would be interested in a thread tutorial on how you dyed the bone Evan. May not be as entertaining as this one but maybe it could be included with the next.

Very enjoyable thread! Congrats to the winners on their spectacular products from Santa Evan's workshop. :D
Evan, thanks for all the splendid info and amazing photos of your work in this thread that took us right through the holidays, Thanksgiving to New Year!

This odd little fellow arrived at my door carrying a package from Florida. How he got here from the sunshine state riding ice skates, I do not know!

Inside the package he was carrying was nestled away a very special prize!

A highly modified bull nose! Sort of a collaboration between Evan and myself. I can't take much credit at all except for the bullocks shield idea which I thought fit the "bull" part of the knife's name, and the slightly pointier blade idea that Evan produced perfectly.

What beautiful ancient sea cow covers!

Thank you, thank you Evan for a fantastic giveaway! The work you did on this knife is of such a high level, I am very impressed!
:thumbup::D:thumbup::D:):):)
Sorry for the poor pictures. My excuse is that it's very dark and rainy here today:o
I almost forgot..........Thanks Phillll for donating your bull nose!!!!!!

The astonishing thing being, this wee Peanut, in its appointments and coloration, is so very clearly, straight-up, straight-off mine:

The variegation and color values in the bone could not be better, with a satin finish that suits me to a T.

The whatever-we-chose bolsters and shield (nickel?), with brushed finish, add exactly the right finishing touches.

As wondrous as this Peanut is as a standalone, look how well it fits with my (other) Case mediterranean blue beauties:
