Turning 21 soon...what gun to get?!

I would call BS on that. you know what really scares them, the sound of 4 slugs and 5 00buck mag shots comming at them in rapid succession!

Yeahhhh I guess that would be pretty scary, too. They both result in stool in the pants lol

Looking for a gun to handle bad guys and big animals, and maybe not yet that good of a shot. May I suggest the following for the new 21 year old shooter:

I forgot about this...what kind of holster do you guys recommend? I resisted the temptation to buy one at the gun shop at the time of purchase

please tell me you are being sarcastic...

I hope so, Glocks aren't great :D :foot:

As for holsters, everyone is different in what feels good and is comfortable and it depends how you want to carry. Just look around until you find a holster that you really like; don't worry if it takes a while, it took me 7 or 8 months for me to find a 1911 holster I liked.

I'd pick a gun that kills people

What the hell?

Crossbreed you say? i'll look at em. I was looking at Don Humes..but ill check crossbreed out. I do plenty of research before buying things :)

You need to invest in rental guns. Anything that strikes your fancy. Shoot everything you can rent. The money will be well spent. You also need a secure location to store the firearm and training that ensures you can handle your new responsibility in a responsible manner.

The actual choice for a first gun is far down the list.

I already got my gun...

I have a key/combination handgun safe bolted to a large chest in my room.

+1 for the Crossbreed supertuck. It holds my glock really well, and is the most comfortable IWB holster I've worn. I've got lots of custom/NICE leather ones, but the crossbreed is definitely the most comfortable to carry.

Good for you. I saw your purchase after I posted. Great first choice. Buy as much if not more 38 Special than 357 to begin with. You will really appreciate easing into the Magnums.

I have shot a gun before! I know alll about gun safety. I can't go to training due to time constraints (school, work, etc). Next summer, if I have ANY time I definitely want to do a safety course. My dad did one when he got his permit and loved it. Like I said though, at the moment it just won't happen.

Thanks Newton
