Tweener Handle Thoughts

I was wondering what people thought of the tweener handles. As most know, it doesn't fit my hand right. It's too short, and the protrusion on the end digs into my hand. I also feel the groove for the fore finger is too small. I feel the handles are too hand specific in general. I think it would have been better with a more straightish handle, to accommodate different hand types. Or, perhaps like the regular size BK handles, on a smaller version. Just as long, but smaller around, that is. I understand that some knives just don't work out, and that's understandable. I guess I'm just a little disappointed they didn't work out for me, after waiting for so long for them. Love the blades, don't get me wrong, but the handles just didn't work out for me. What are your thoughts?

I find the finger relief to be a little too deep, and my fore finger floats sometimes.

When I choke up and lay my thumb across the rounded portion, it accommodates my hand better.

I kind of know what he means, my forefinger floats off the handle too in a full grip but when shifting up my grip for detail cuts it seems to turn into silk and the finger groove feels just right where it is. Might be kind of hard to explain.

They fit my mitts perfectly. They are cheap enough that I wouldn't feel bad grinding on one to try and make it work. You have pretty big paws though so like you said sometimes things just don't work no matter what. What you need is a Junglas, freaking ogre sized handles on that thing.

I think he was talking about knives Moose.

What about grinding off the rear portion and having longer handles made? You would lose the lanyard hole but it would be longer.

Or epoxying on some G10 over the whole handle to basically make whatever shape you want? (Cam is a pro at that)

I thought about that before, and even did a mock up, but I just don't want to mess with it, tbh. 1066vik had a good idea to make the fore finger groove bigger too, but I'm pretty much over these. I'm just going to find something to fit my hand.

Normal grip, floating finger.

High grip, more accommodating.

I personally like the tweener handles...I find them a bit thin, but I have heard liners work marvels for that, I just aint made any yet. My tommy scales that are slightly thicker then stock feel a lot better.

Their too small for me as is, But I added a liner (dvd case) on each side and I'm very happy with it now.

Would you think .80 kydex would be too thick for liners on the tweeners? I want thicker...but I am thinking that may be too much, I may try a set anyways, and a set from DVD cases too.

I'm not sure. The DVD case adds 3/64 ths per side. I don't have a decimal equivlent chart on me just now. Make up a set, I'll beta test it for you.

I say, 1/16" is about what my DVD case adds to it. They all have it, btw.

But even with liners, it would still be too short. Thanks for the photos Moose.
