Dubs, if you check out my 15 thread, what Konabadger did with my handles would easily accommodate your needs with some small amount of grinding before he fit the handles. that would make the handle longer fatter and remove the nub and his prices are darn reasonable. Plus you would have an even sexier knife when it was all said and done and it would still be a Becker.
Heck if you would Like I would be willing to to the grinding myself no charge and then you could get someone to make handles that cover the exposed tang at the bottom like mine was done, giving you some more gripping surface.
Just let me know. I would hate to see you get rid of your tweeners if we can fix it. Isn't that half the fun of owning Becker's? The Modding?

I hear ya. I thought about, and could mod them. I did a quick mock up, to see how to go about it. I also have a line marked on my 16, where I was going to grind the finger guard down, to more of a mini choil, but I still didn't like where the rest of my hand hit the handle. It's all good. Like I said, sometimes, it just doesn't work, no biggie. I think I'm just going to go another route, and get something else. I love me some Beckers, but, I also love a lot of knives out there. I'm a knife person, as most of us are. I'm really leaning toward a BHK. I read, and hear their knives are really nice, and they're really good people to deal with.

While you wait to figure out how you want to mod your handles, I made this one up for you, free of charge. Needs to be HT-ed and handled and all, but should fit your mitt a bit better.

I have dubbed this one-of-kind blade the "BK-Not-As Short" for the time being. It's made from 1/4" 1095. I can nearly fit both my hands on the handle. You got a big paw, brother! I gotta say, with a hand as big as yours, I'm not sure different handle scales will help much, since it seems to me that the 16 to you is probably like the 11 for me. Although I do love my 11...

Yeah.

I can't really see the design changing much though, because I would venture that there aren't THAT many people with hands as big as yours. I could be wrong though.
