Tweener Leather Sheath Want List Thread

I can't get the image out of my mind of a really narrow pouch sheath with no extra nothing. We've already got the big knives... seems like it'd be nice for this one to be slim and to disappear.

I can't wait till I get paid, which won't be until summer.... As soon as I can afford it I'm gonna get with you about a custom sheath for a double piggy back, BK2 primary with 16 and 11 piggybacking. I'm gonna kill myself waiting, and don't ask me why I don't get a normal job instead of a summer job.

A bK2 with a 16 with an 11? Uhmmmmmm hmm the 2 and 16 are about the same oal so I dunno how well that would work out. 2 and 11, 16 and 11 sure no problem. All 3 though might be difficult to pull off though.

Dang it, I thought the 16 was gonna be a couple inches shorter.... Oh well, I'll have to rethink my custom order, but I have a couple months to do that.... Anyhow, what do you think of a drop leg dangler, for either the 2 or 16, that is far enough down that I can grasp the handle without bending my arm? Also any ideas on a leather leg strap so that it doesn't flap around when I run.

That is easy enough, what you want is a thigh sheath there. I like those myself, out of the way and still easily to get a hold of when needed.

You know clitch brings up a great idea. I have a Ruger LC9 and the holster I bought is an inside the waist band with a removable clip for pocket carry, I love it. If you could incorporate a snap on/off belt loop I would be down for sure.

A pocket style that also will work as a belt sheath? Hmm that's a new one let me think on that one for a bit, has good possibilities

I'm all about simplicity and functionality, which is what drew me to Becker's to begin with. I'm with Warrior and Flexxx on this one - pouch style w/ firesteel loop for 3/8" steel!

i need to see a modular design with hexagonal attachment points that conform to NASA standards for out out of town friends :)

I'm REALLY liking the look of that low-profile cross-draw sheath you do and think that would be perfect for the tweeners. How well does that model work with the BK2? Any feedback about difficulty drawing or resheathing it?

I really like that option, as well. I can then keep it on my left side, since I carry a lead spitter on the right side.

I plan on making the crossdraws for them as well, People seem to like the BK2 one. If you wear it behind its a split between scout and vertical, kind of nice.

Bush sheath, then a crossdraw, may try this pocket sheath idea, dangler, then a scout is probably the order I will go in. I have a bunch of new knives inbound as well so a bit of going back and forth between tweeners and them.

No moo for nasa until they show me some cool aliens

I wouldn't mind a bushcraft style sheath with a 3/8 firesteel loop for my BK 16. I do however have a hard time trusting the retention of a regular leather bushcraft style sheath. How about an option with a retention flap like on the BHK Woodsman pro? Or a smaller retention flap with shock cord so you can have a choice for having the end of the handle retention or have it compress out of the way for repeated sheathing and unsheathing of the knife.

Just throwing ideas out there,

Thanks

Jeremy

Good ideas, depending on the shape of the handle a bush style sheath has quite a bit of retention if formed to it.

I'd be willing to model the back pocket/removable belt loop sheath for you...I have a lot nicer tush than Clitch.

I think the Captain can model better than both of you, or she knows someone who can.

Skystorm,
That crossdraw/conceal sheath you made for the BK11 looked really cool. I think having something like that for the tweeners would work out really well.
