Tweener Leather Sheath Want List Thread

dangler and cross draw are both first on the list of to do. Pattern making starts this afternoon when the big brown truck drops me off a box

I can't get the image out of my mind of a really narrow pouch sheath with no extra nothing. We've already got the big knives... seems like it'd be nice for this one to be slim and to disappear.

These knives are a lot smaller, maybe getting close to normal large hunting knives, so it seems they should have a sheath to complement that. Doesn't have to be a very big sheath.

Allrighty then the shorties have landed. No fancy pics, no reviews currently other than they are fantastic in hand and the etching is not nearly as horrible on person. The first 3 have currently been whisked off to the sky cave for much fondling and pattern making. Expect things finished for the weekend.

Yes, I'd agree that the etching looks a lot better in person. Much much better than the stock photo on SMKW.

I'm looking forward to what you'll create for these knives. Do you have a favorite of the 3 yet?

and i hope you appreciate that you have these way before me. no special treatment! yeah, i have a nearly sterile BK15. boo hoo :)

i imagine that if someone strips their knives, and then recoats them, all that writing and stuff goes away nicely :)

nobody likes mirror shiny polished blades ;)

Will gun blue work on the etching?? Anyone had a hand at that before?

Looking forward to seeing the sheaths!

The 16 only weighs a tenth of an ounce more than the 17 but the balance is much more forward. I do like the 16 better, probably alot better when I add a choil to it. The 15 I am still on the fence but I have only had them and hour and ten minutes so it may take a little longer.
When the others get here I will pick the 16 with the worst finish for a user and start modding. Hopefully later when i get caught up this month I can do some comparisons between these and some bhk's and others I have inbound this month.

nice score bro.

I will also be able to compare some BHK goodness with the BK16 tomorrow.....

Thanks for the info. It's great to see some more pictures and thoughts on these bad boys.

Lots of patterns done. Stopped for lunch but I guess it's dinner actually since I am missing 3 or 4 hours. On to cutting and dye tubs, Looks like an all night moo marathon. I really like the way the 16 feels but I'd probably get more done if I put it down I suppose.

+1

That is all

Fortunately the 16 and 17 have such similar profiles the sheaths will accept either one, the 15 is completely different though.
