"Twisted Cripple EDC” or TCEDC

Hi Lock1454 - Thanks for the very kind words.

The 2 1/2" is the approximate length of the blade from tip to the beginning of the handle scales. Overall length averages 6". I use the words "average" and "approximately" since these are all hand made and there may be a variance of +/- 1/16" to 3/32" in either measurement. And the width is almost dead on at 7/8" on each of these.

Great lookin knives. I wish I had some $$$ in the knife budget but I already spent it on knives for my kid's Christmas. I feel your pain on the back issues broke mine on a jump several years ago and ended my Millitary career. Anyway great work.

Lefteris, aka "madfordiving" -

Payment recieved for the two knives. Shipping to Greece tomorrow morning!

Thank you very much.

Received my TCEDC today, thanks Wayne! As has become my custom, and as a courtesy both to the maker and to my fellow BladeForum members, I proudly present a review of the:

Twisted Cripple Everyday Carry (TCEDC)

Before I even begin my review, I want to say that if you are on the fence about this knife, get off. If your are undecided, decide. Buy it. Buy it now. In short, this is a high quality, hefty little EDC that not only looks good, performs even better!

I've seen a lot of EDC's (every day carry) out there and even own a few. There are many interpretations and ideas about what makes a good everyday carry knife. It needs to be big enough to handle just about everything but small enough to conveniently carry. Let's face it, it needs to look good, too. It has to fit everyone's hand like it was made especially for them. It has to be well constructed in order to handle whatever we throw at it. For the majority of us, that means boxes, packages, even - dare I say it? - mail. It has to handle food with authority! And when the chips are down, it better be able to save my life! The TCEDC accomplishes this with ease and flair.

Wayne Jarrett knows knives. He doesn't just make them, that's not good enough. He gives them *life*. If you have never had the privilege of owning one, you are missing out. His knives fit the hand like they were made for them, my wife, children and friends all agree. There are many knife makers here on BladeForums. I've had the honor of purchasing knives from many of them and they have all been wonderful. I would have no problem whatsoever recommending their knives. But, and no offense or slight is intended, Wayne is in a class all his own. That's why I jumped at the opportunity to add the TCEDC to my collection.

The knife is right at five and a half inches long. The handle is a touch under three and three quarter inches, contoured for a perfect three finger and a half finger hold. The cutting portion of the blade is about two and a quarter inches long. The handle is made out of this wonderful black linen micarta. The pin and lanyard tube is made of stainless steel. The handle is beautifully contoured and the hold is comfortable with good grip. The micarta has a beautiful, layered pattern. The blade is shaped perfectly for nearly every eventuality and it arrived sharp, laser sharp. The fit and finish is impeccable.

The blade material is 0-1, which in my opinion, is the perfect knife steel. It is easily sharpened and re-profiled, should you desire it. It holds an edge extremely well. It can also be sharpened to a razor's edge. I know, I shaved with the TCEDC. I spent the day putting this knife through a variety of tests and it passed with flying colors. I even used it to carve out a new fire drill set, how's that for being thorough? The blade is thick enough to handle just about anything without being too thick. Those of you who use knives will know what I am talking about. In short, this is a perfect EDC knife which is useful, great to carry, looks good and is up to the job.

Wayne decided to number these knives, which I really appreciate. I think it is a special touch for a special series of knives. I can't help but think that his knives are going to be worth a lot of money one day. The fact that every knife I own that is made by him is collector quality is phenomenal, even though they are users! He doesn't skimp on materials or quality and his eye for detail is unreal. I have several sizes of his knives and they all fit the hand perfectly, as do they my wife's and my children! I don't know how he does it, actually, but I sure do appreciate it!

The neck sheath is an absolute joy to wear. It is just wide enough to keep it from flopping around and twisting. It hold the knife securely while allowing for the knife to be easily removed. You can also carry it in a pocket or, if you are of a mind to, secure it to a belt with a paracord or leather lacing. I'm not sure about a TEC-LOK because I don't own one and I'm sure Wayne can answer that one. I wear mine around my neck because that is my preference. A fervent belt carrier, neck carry was new to me up until a few months ago after reading an article in a magazine. Now, I am an ardent necker fan and this sheath is absolutely perfect.

Overall, the TCEDC is a perfect package of knife and sheath. It looks great, handles great and feels great. I give it a perfect score.

Edited for spelling and grammar.
Edited again because I forgot to add "and three quarters" to the handle measurement. My apologies to all!!!

Hi,

Yes, I can do that. However I don't have any Tec-Loc's in stock at the moment. They are running about $9.95+ shipping each for the small ones so I'd want to get a firm commitment (deposit) and then I'd just pass on the additional cost adding it to the price of the knives.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks.

After posting my review, I realized that I had completely forgotten to mention that the TCEDC was a collaboration between Wayne Jarrett and his apprentice, CJ Powell. CJ is a very talented young man whose skills are progressing phenomenally. CJ, I apologize for failing to mention you in my original review!

I just wanted to add that the handles are just under 4 inches, mine coming in around 3 3/4".

Thanks Wayne and CJ

Gentlemen,

Just a note to say thanks a ton for the feedback. It's great to know that they meet your expectations and that you are pleased with the knives. I hope you enjoy them for years to come. BTW - We still have some available if anyone else is interested.

Take care and God Bless

I have to pick up one more of these before they are all gone! Too good of a knife to pass up.

Paypal on its way.

Thanks again

I re-edited my review because I got the handle measurement wrong. I wrote that it was just under three inches, but in actuality it is just under under three *and three quarter* inches long. My apologies to all for the oversight! I hope that my error didn't cause any of you to turn away. Thank you again, Wayne and CJ, for an outstanding EDC. I'm enjoying using it and can't speak highly enough about it.

If anyone spots any errors in my measurements or anything, please don't hesitate to correct me on it! Again, my apologies for the oversight!

Randy Wiggins
