So far I've ordered four knives from 1SKS (1 is preordered). Well, make that five-just ordered a Leatherman Wave, today. I've spoken with both Mike and Spark on several occasions. Both have been very helpful, and straightforward in answering any questions.
Just wanted to thank them both for the great service, not to mention for Bladeforums.
Tuesday afternoon, I ordered an Emerson Commander. It was in the afternoon, and I didn't expect it to go out until Wednesday. Didn't expect the knife to arrive until Friday or Monday (no Sat. delivery around here). This is Thursday, and my Commander is sitting on the desk as I type this.
I normally do not order folders online, preferring to handle them before buying. Mike took the time to get out the Commanders that he had in stock (in his imaginary warehouse
), and check them for blade play and proper lockup. He also took the time to comment on his own Commander, and mentioned that the liner now goes all the way across to the right side of the tang (an undesirable trait, for any who don't know). This could have easily given a customer second thoughts, and potentially cost him a sale, but he told me anyway.
I like honesty. I like people with integrity. I like the fact that Mike warned me of a potential future "problem", rather than just taking my money without comment.
My packages have always arrived in 2-3 business days (I'm in AL), and there have been no mix-ups on my orders. I like that, too.
This is the kind of dealer I want to do business with, and will continue to do so in the future.
