Its been a long time coming, but we've finally begun work on the Tyrant Bowie Prototype. To say I'm hella excited is an understatement. Just look at this thing!

The goal is to have a small run of 15 prototype blades ready within two months time. To speed up the process and get this thing moving we are using the Fell Beast handle just like the original prototype had. I think the dimensions fit perfectly into the overall design and I think everyone will LOVE the new handle. I spent countless hours getting the curves and dimensions just right and I think it really shows. I'd put this handle up against anything out there in terms of comfort and ergonomics.

A skeletonized tang, fuller, high grind + swedge will keep them light as a feather.

Final specs will be:
Steel: Z Tuff @ 61+ RC
~.300 thick
13.4in blade
19.2 in overall
2.5in tall at the wides point

Truly the king of all bowies

Those fell beast handles in terotuf are the most comfortable I've used on a big knife. This will be awesome.

The new handle is even better. Its slightly shorter, has a smaller middle swell, and a little bit more thickness in the rear of the handle. Its a winner. Can't wait to get them into people hands.

Those sound like good changes. I wish my Fell Beast had a little more “back” for security when swinging it.

Looking good!

Do you have a sense of price? And if there's a timetable for the kukri as well (new drawings, first production)?

I see there's also a new light machete that looks good!

Aiming for a price of $900 for the Tyrant Bowie. We had to upgrade to Z Tuff because of warpage concerns with AEBL so the price is a little higher than I originally wanted but I still think its a great value and in line with other big blades that have been offered in the past by top makers.

The Tyrant Bowie will be done in 2 months tops and the Kurkri will be done before the end of the year! We'll start production on the Kurki immediately after the Tyrant Bowie is done. I'm actually getting a prototype cut next week on the waterjet.

I don't own any knives with Terotuf handles so I'm anxious to find out what everyone seems to love about them.
They aren’t the most aesthetically appealing however they are very impact resistant, durable, and grippy and I think they are slightly more shock-absorbing than micarta, wood, or G10. I would pick them for a kitchen knife or a gentleman’s EDC or anything traditional but for a big woods chopper or fighter they are hard to beat.

*wouldn't pick (corrected typo?)

I wouldn't mind getting ahold of a prototype Tyrant Bowie. ;)

The chatter here sure slowed down since the Fell Beast prototype sale.
