TU24, what's that :confused: DON'T mess with January 29 :grumpy:

OK, here it is, hot stuff ... Asteroid 2007 TU24, discovered by the Catalina Sky Survey on October 11, 2007 will closely approach the Earth to within 1.4 lunar distances (334,000 miles) on 2008 Jan. 29 08:33 UT. This object, between 150 and 600 meters in diameter, will reach an approximate apparent magnitude 10.3 on Jan. 29-30 before quickly becoming fainter as it moves further from Earth. For a brief time the asteroid will be observable in dark and clear skies with amateur telescopes of 3 inch apertures or larger.

I just heard there were more then a dozen videos filmed and many pictures taken. Waiting to see what comes out...
 
I think that there is proof of intelligent life in the universe. For one thing, they have not contacted us. :D

My son is a physicist and his field is cosmology. His knowledge of physics is what he learned in school and we have discussed the possibility that there is a lot more to the universe then we know or will ever know. His answer is that until some space craft lands on Earth and shows us what they got, we have to stick to what we know. Until that happens, it’s all BS.

I doubt we'll get any really clear photos or videos because of the conditions at the time of incident.
 
Interesting. I've always wondered about aliens. Would they be friendly or enslave us all? Or are they just observers?

I'm sure the Govt. wouldn't want news of this sort getting out. Imagine the mass panic it would create.
 
Many credible authorities say that they seem to be scientists. They take the same chemical and biological samples that we do when studying biology/ecology.

Well on this planet we have brain surgeons & nucular physcisits as well as cane cutters, beggars & street sweepers .

Perhaps they are also many & varied in skills & intelect & luck of the draw in life?

ive seen clever dogs, stupid dogs & the same with fish & birds as well.

Presuambly Astronaughts are usualy carefully selected? for whatever reason?

Danny, we can't delete this thread. It is against BFC policy. Also, I, personally, am not going to lock the thread as it has not gotten out of hand, nor have major hurtful insults been thrown around. Unless Ted or Yangdu would like to make a different call, I'm leaving it open. No "rules" have been broken.

That said, a couple of times, IMHO, some posts have bumped a bit from discussion to more than mild ribbing. The Cantina has always been a place where folks can feel free to present their ideas and thoughts without having to worry about being hauled through the mud for what they believe. Golden rule, right?:)

What Jake said, but this does seem to be an ideal time to point out that PLATINUM members can lock their own threads if they feel the need. Let's all just get along.
 
YES: entities HAVE been witnessed taking "soil samples", asking people to undergo "experiments" and are suspected of vivisecting livestock. A technologically advanced race would have little need of such crude methodology, and it seems as if they are deliberately allowing themselves to be spotted doing these things. There are two theories as to why this is. The first involves PSYOPS -- they are trying to trick people into thinking they are something other than what they are. The second theory is more disturbing.
Either way, it has been established beyond a reasonable doubt that communicating with these entities is like dabbling with a OUIJA -- they lie constantly, and seem to take glee in manipulating witnesses destructively. Even the ones who appear benevolent lie. The only time they tell the truth is to establish trust -- which is then exploited.
They are probably not "alien" as they've been reported throughout recorded history, and many researchers believe that these entities are the demons of religion and the siddhe of folklore.
